Blank screen My Canon Powershot SD600, when in picture taking mode, does not show any images on the screen -- it is dark. However, in video mode and play mode, it is just fine so I know the screen still works. And it can take pictures, I just can't see anything!

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP (Display) button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off in picture taking mode to save battery power. You could then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn it back on, just the DISP button one more time.

I dropped my Powershot A 530, and since then i am not able to see any image on the screen, and when i shoot it regardless i get blank images on the memory card. The previous images that i had taken are...

Either a "cracked" logic-board, or loose wires from the video-screen, so that nothing (except "darkness") is being sent from the photo-sensors to the logic-board.

Copy all the pictures from the card onto your PC, and then buy a new camera -- this will be less-expensive than having a camera-repair professional trouble-shoot it.

SD600 stuck in Video Recording mode

This worked for me. Take out battery and card. Wait a few minutes. Set camera in Auto (stil pic) mode. Replace card and battery, turn on. Select function, tab through all options returning to auto. Press function. This seems to be working, Let me know how this works for you. I found nothing on the Canon site. A sad commentary on the company.

Blank LCD on Canon A95

Believe that you accidentally pressed the DISP button on the bottom back row of your camera. This manually turns the display on and off as desired to save batteries. Press the button once more to turn it back on.

LCD Display Blank

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback as well.

I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito, Ecuador)
