I'm following these instructions:
Installing TomTom HOME Install TomTom HOME on your computer in the following way.
Connect your computer to the Internet and then connect your TomTom ONE to your computer using the USB cable.
A pop-up window appears. Select Run TomTom HOME. Click OK and follow the on-screen instructions.
If the pop-up window does not appear, browse to the TomTom device on your computer and run the file named Install TomTom HOME.
TomTom HOME is also available for download from the TomTom website.

Once installed, TomTom HOME will start automatically whenever you connectyour TomTom to your computer.
The moment you connect your TomTom device to a computer, your device should ask Do you want to connect to 'computer'. Once you tap YES, it should connect to the computer. TomTom HOME then starts.
If your device is not connecting, click one of the solutions below:
Device not responding
You connect your device to your computer but the device does not ask if you want to connect.
This is not a solution, it is a new problem
my tomtom was working fine until I connected it to my computer using the latest TomTom Home. It now flashes a white cross and TomTom Home says "No device connected". My TomTom is useless now and does not work anymore.
Make sure you download the lates Home software - probably availalble at www.tomtom.com
After you say yes to conect to the computer and the screen goes black - jut re-press the on button on the GPS while it is still connected to the computer - it will then work. I also try to open the GPS as an external drive which forces the identification of files while TomTom home is working.
hi ! I had the same problem. My TOMTOM version was too old to connect to the new TOMTOM 'Home' software . Contact TOMTOM support and they will give you a link to the older version of TOMTOM Home where you can update your TOMTOM version which will then be able to connect to the newer version on Home , and then link ok to your computer.
