Harmony 550 question. I set up my devices (tv, cable box, sound bar and blue ray player), and set up the watch tv activity. When I try to do the activity, the tv turns on, the sound bar does not, and the blue ray turns on. BR is definitely set up not to turn on for this activity. I have set up and trashed the activity several times. I have also set up all the devices mutiple times to be sure I did it correct. I have used this remote in a previous home and it worked great. I'm stumped. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot would be appreciated. Thnx. JI

I know it may not be this simple, but I have set up like 5 of those remotes for clients, I always have to remind them to make sure everything is off before starting from scratch trying a function.
That way they are not doing the opposite (On/Off) of what they are supposed to do.

LG blue ray won't play sound from RCA sound bar. HDMI cable is hooked into HDMi slot on TV

the details you provided were very vague, however from my experience when a device is connected to another device via and audio capable hdmi cable, that device renders it audio output to the device its connected to and normally turn off all other audio outputs beside optical- I would assume there is an option in the blue ray player to turn off hdmi audio, which will in turn activate other audio outputs- you may also look for audio out port on your tv, it is ideal to connect the sound bar directly to the tv set audio out ports. To sum this up,
if you plan to use your player via hdmi cable you need to turn off hdmi audio output on the blue ray player and the plug an audio cable from your blue-ray player to your sound bar
you may also as i said connect your sound bar directly to your tv, the issue is most tv sets now a days do not have an audio out port, if you do then everything you play thru your tv will have audio via sound bar
there are several way to go here but unless your sound bar has hdmi av switching capabilities (im sure not) this is one of the most simple--Good Luck.

I need help hooking up my system from cable box to old toshiba 52 inch tv does not have hdmi on tv red, green , blue wires i also bought today a sony blue ray player speakers are not working ...

Hello,

Please indicate the brand and model of your receiver, BD player and your speakers. Basically, you just need to connect the cable box and blue ray player to the receiver. The 5.1 speakers should be connected to the blue ray player, then another set of cables from your BD player to your TV. When you want to use the speakers while watching TV, you need to turn on the blue ray player too.

I recently bought a Logitech Harmony One universal remote for my VIzio HDTV and Vizio soundbar. Following the setup instructions on the DVD I sucessfully set up the remote to control the TV, cable box...

Great remote but not always easy to find right category for device.
Had a look for you and sure enough the device IS listed in data base under AMPLIFIER- then select amplifier again and input vizio for make and soundbar for model and click next.Problem solved!

Lost my manual, need to reprogram my Logitech hand control for replacement TIVO HDVR

Hi. Programming of the Harmony remote is done in the software, which you can download at http://logitech.com/myharmony.

You'll have to add the TiVo deivce by clicking 'Add Device', then set up an Activity for it. In the 'Activities' tab, click 'Add Activity', and select 'Watch TV (TiVo)'.

Hope that helps.

Compatible TVs

I can help you with your Logitech Harmony 550 remote control.

The Logitech Harmony 550 remote control is programmed through the
Harmony Windows Setup Software.

Once installed, you will simply run the program and select the devices you would like to control from menus. The software finds the right codes for you and loads them into your remote control.

I hope that helps.

8' Optical Cable from TV to Receiver and Signal is Breaking Up

Before you buy anything try checking the AUDIO Settings in the Menu of Each Device (Mostly TV) and see if they are set to PCM or BITSTREAM. HDMI is mostly set to PCM while Optical is generally Bitstream. The TV may be set to the opposite of what it needs to be. I would try to get PCM to work first cause it is Better, If not then set what you can to Bitstream and it should pass. Also check in TV Menu for SOUND OUT or AUDIO OUT or SPEAKERS. Some TV's have a problem passing Audio through when they are already Outputting them to it's own Speakers! I Hope this Helps out!
