When Casio id not deliver software for that specific camera to act as a webcam, it won't work as a webcam. Every device you connect to a computer, via USB, needs software installed on the computer. It also needs the correct driver. The maker of the device needs to make the software and the driver. Since Windows 7 Microsoft only certifies drivers (and delivers them when needed) when the manufacture of the device used the correct way to driver should work. Then photo camera's get software, to retrieve the pictures from the camera to the computer. Sometimes the camera producer gives some extra software, like program's to see what is on the camera display and a possibility to trigger the camera from the computer. But most of the time you have to pay extra for that software. I have an old digital camera, with 16 Mbyte of memory and just a fixed focus lens, that could be used as a web cam. But I could install the driver on XP. Windows 7 does not allow me to install that driver anymore. Then the program to use it as a webcam, only works with that camera and with no other camera I have tried till so far. I'm afraid if you can't find an open source program, you won't be able to use the camera as a webcam.

The webcam usually comes with instructions on how to connect it to a computer and are usually connected vial a USB 2 plug. If you know the make of the Webcam you can search the Internet for the company and, hopefully you will download their software.

Try to connect your camera after switching on the pc and go to add hardware\software where you need to install the software for your logitech camera or run the cd of your camera from cd rom and it will work after installing the software.Dont forget to restart your pc after installing the software.

This works for XP SP2. It does seem to crash Firefox when trying to connect to Blogtv which was all I
troed using it on. It may have other issues! I actually use a cheap "Gear Head Quick Webcam Basic" that I got at Big Lots for $13 for video conferencing

Need to change ip address for my camera

How is your webcam connected to your network? Is it connected to your PC or your router?

If it is connected to your router, go into the router settings and see if the router reassigned a new ip address to the camera. If you set the router up for DHCP, it will automatically assign IP addresses to all devices that are connected to it, as long as the individual devices are also set to dynamic IP addressing. Your router is set up for the 1.0 network, so your pc is most likely 1.2, while your router port connecting to your home network is 1.1.

Another thing you can do is make sure your webcam is turned on and go into 'My Network Places', then click on workgroup computers. See if the webcam is listed there.

Usually this means that your camera is not working , you can see them through their camera. Check the connections, the driver, the power to the camera, also make sure the camera is working if you can.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Digital Camera BenQ DC C500 as a webcam

Digital camera's do not normally operate as a webcam however I have come across the odd one that can do this. Cameras usually appear as a removable disk to the opperating system. Are you sure your camera can work in this way?
