I have a 1990 ford ranger i just put a new 2.9 v6 in it everything was going good for a week but now when i put the gas peddle past have way to the floor its cuts out like nuthing not a noise but then when i take my foot off the gas it starts going agin i don't have to start it agin because it doesn't really shut off its very weird almost like its not getting the gas it needs but new fule lines filter new fule pump it has all the pressure it needs maybe fule injectures but why only when i really step on the gas ? if anyone has a clue email me thanx
These were hard to fix when they were new in 1990, question:::: does it run and rev-up hi normally in neutral/park??? with a timing light does the distributor show full advance???you claim "CUTS-OUT", like back-firing ??you may need to test the COIL, TPS (throttle position sensor) and LOOM to isolate the cause,.. try those and let me know the outcome....GL
not knowing what trans you have ?? Thats why I said "neutral/park" sorry....assuming you checked or changed basic parts already...Fuel filter,plugs,etc.....it sound more like fuel, and possible "LOOM" (wire harness)... ck the fuel system from the tank to motor, I have found the rubber hoses seperate internally and restrict flow.and tank filter clogged..also ck loom connectors for corroided terminals, breaks, cracked insulator, etc .causing poor connection and hi resistance to injectors, ign., etc..which happens due to time and heat.....GL
