How to synchronize chimes on a George Woltz grandfather clock?
Slide the top off (if it slides off) so that you can see the movement inside. The clocks striking mechanism is on your left side of the movement. There may be a steel lever that raises, and drops between each tooth on whats called a count wheel. The count wheel looks like the other gears only it has deep recessions spaced accordingly to represent each hour. If you raise, or trip the lever, it will advance to the next hour. Do this until you've corrected the strike to the desired hour. Hope this helps. This is just one of several different ways to sync your strike with the time. If I saw your movement, I could give a better answer. Good Luck
