First double check your charger is 19V (at 3.42A minimum) on the body label. It could also be providing a faulty voltage so you need to check its output with a cheap voltmeter (should be 19 to say 22 volts off load), OR borrow a 19 v charger from someone which has same connector to see if it works on your laptop. Good Luck.

Toshiba A135-S4527 starts to power up then shuts down.

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

I got this toshiba model L200 and the unit is shutting down often time every time i switched it on. I noticed that when the battery is full, it always shutdowns and freezes but when the battery is drained...

This problem has something to do with your motherboard. It might be that the power supply or the sensors in the motherboard is causing the non stability. Try to contact your nearest brand service center and let them check your unit. In this way, you solve the problem in its early stage.

HHello there,\r\n I have a very strange problem

i think the major problem is the "immediate stop", if we properly analyze this symptom we can get the solution. when we plug the AC/DC adapter to the laptop, it shuts down; so there are two major causes:
  1. OVP protection problem (Over voltage protection)
the 19V of the adapter is not properly regulated; we need to replace te AC/AC adaptor
2. OCP protection problem (Over current protection) if the power jack is broken, it cause a bad metal to metal contact, in this case the transient current increase fastly, the power managment IC go to the standby mode; to protect all other device ( cpu, memory, graphic controller etc) , only two voltage are present: 3.3V always on and 5V always on, we can charge the battery. to solve the problem, we need to replace the power jack located on the laptop motherboard. here the picture of the power jack:

I was shutting down my toshiba laptop, its now frozen.

If nothing else works remove the battery, leave it for 5 mins then replace it and it will start as normal. Yyou will get an error message usually saying it was not shut down correctly and it may do a system scan but unless there is a real problem with it that will restart it. Ive had to do that twice with mine in the last year.

Toshiba a30 laptop over heating problems

It is obvious that your computer shutdown because it is overheating. try to get a chill mat to place it under computer. you said that it does not shut down when is on battery??? do you play games when is on battery?....computers normally overheat during large processing tasks such us playing video games. Try to fans clear do not place your laptop ontop of your bed or anything that will obstruct the fan under computer.

See if that works

best luck

Satellite screen is blank & won't shut down

Don't know why the screen is blank. Toggle the F9 key to make sure you didn't accidentally toogle off the screen.

As far as turning off the power and shutting down the computer, the old stand-by is to take out the battery and then pull the plug. The computer will power down. Replace the battery, replace the plug and then push the start button. You may have to start it up in SAFE mode since the shut down process was not the "normal' process the computer expects to follow.

I need help!!

If it can charge the batteries with the battery charger and not work with the car, it is possible the the car adabtor is defective.

Also, you need the original Garmin adabtor for this unit. You cannot use any after market ones. You cannot power this unit to run properly on the USB port. If must use the proper adabtor for it.

If you are using the proper adabtor and the unit still does not run, it will need factory level servicing.
