Is the camera still in automatic? (green camera logo) Or is it in scene, night shot?
If you put it to automatic, and it won't change anything, I'm afraid your camera is defect. Contact a certified Fuji repair centre, but before you send it in for repair, ask what it will cost you. because camera's are becoming cheaper and cheaper. Don't pay more for a repair than you would pay for a new camera.

  • Indoor pictures with flash set on auto WB (white balance) should not be a problem
  • Indoor pictures without flash requires setting the WB to match the light source in the room (incandescent, florescent etc) Outdoor pictures WB on auto generally not a problem

Film not developing

I have the same problem as you. Pictures are in black and photo cartridges already wasted 3. Today I opened my camera and not a spring tea that is attached to the lever capture modes (sunny, noblado etc) was detached. Because I remember when the camera is turned on (pulling the lens) capture modes to move too. So every time you take a photo you must manually set the capture mode, and it stopped working. I hope it is resolved by attaching the spring. You already solved?

When i take a picture a pink/white blob in the centre occurs. If i point the camera at a bright light and take some photos this dissapears, but if i dont take a photo for a few minuets it comes back. This...

Some symptoms of a defective CCD (Charge Coupled Device) include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details: Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

The Malfunction:
Among the CCDs used in the affected products listed above, it has been confirmed that, especially under high-temperature/high-humidity environments, the internal wiring may come undone in some places.

If this defect occurs, the signal is not output from the CCD correctly when in shooting mode, which results in symptoms like the following in captured images. These symptoms can be confirmed on the LCD monitor. The same symptoms may also occur in recorded images.
* images do not appear
* images appear distorted

Additionally, cpould read this article about recall and solve for free (not allways): Cameras-With-Defective-CCDs-Can-Be-Fixed-For-Free

Hope this helps.

Scanning photos into computer at a large size?!

This sounds like you are trying to scan images at a larger size than they actually are?
I am not an expert-(but I have a Mac)-but from what I'm reading, scan your photos at a 300-600 dpi resolution, then use photo editing software to enlarge them. The higher the resolution, the more disk space and the more photo detail (i.e. cracks, dust, scratches, paper type) will be captured, and the more time it will take to scan. Also, for the white, does your scanner allow you to select the area/define borders during the pre-scan? Mine lets me drag borders to just the image area (but capture the image first, then do the cropping and editing to a copy later).

Poor image quality

hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
