The blue light keeps flashing on and off on my Seagate 4Tb XHD. It won't show up on the finder as connected. What causes that?

Well try updating your firmware..That worked for me...its connected but it doesnt show up in my computer..

Why does Windows not automatically detect Seagate 1F2168-300

1. You need Windows 7 or 8
Earlier OS can support up to 2TB max.
2. Even with Windows 7 or 8, 4TB HDD cannot be used as System
unless you have UEFI bios.

Possible that the suspect could be the controller board, you can switch the machine off power for sometime, check the power outlet for the correct voltage. If not the front panel must be removed to check on the board and a possible fault of the processor or memory.

The monitor keeps flashing on and off? Or does your system keeps trying to reboot which causes the monitor to go on and off. Does the screen turn Blue before it goes off?

Acer x193w Monitor won't come on flashes blue light you see word "Acer" it goes to flashing Yellow light and keeps repeating that.

you disconnect the monitor from PC
& see: it will show no signal or check signal cable. that means the monitor is OK problem is in PC. may be you PC is not booting properly. if monitor does not come on there may be fault in the main board of your monitor.

Get the Testdisk app and see if it can identify the issue. You can repair the boot sector or create a new one with th is app. If it shows up in the drive list you have a good chance of getting the drive back.

Follow these steps:

Make sure the computer and external hard drive are powered on.
Safely remove the drive from the computer (if possible).
Disconnect the external drive's USB or FireWire cable.
Disconnect the power supply plug from the external drive.
Power off the computer.
Disconnect the computer's power supply cord for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the computer.
Power on the computer.
Connect the power supply to the external drive.
Connect the drive's USB or FireWire cable and check for detection.

If that does not correct the behavior, and if the drive is also not detected by your computer, the blinking light is probably a symptom of a larger problem. If those steps do not return the drive to correct function, it is very possible, even probable, that the drive has failed and needs to be replaced
