My ps2 is not loading games. it just goes black

My ps2 is not loading games. right after it shows the words playstation 2 it goes strait into the browser option and when i choose the disk icon, it trys to load the game but it just goes black! i neeeeeed help!

I got a silver ps2 slim it won't load a few off my games but it will load on my fat ps2

this is a common issue with the playstation 2 due to dust on the laser lens. try a disc cleaning kit or take it to a electronics specialist. 9/10 times on mine and my friends ps2's this was the fault.

PS2 goes strait to "configuration" and the disc not spining.

Your lens or motor are dead. However, I am thinking that it is the motor. If it is on warranty, call Sony. They should fix it. If not, take it apart, and plug a 3v current into the drive. + = red, - = black. If it is dead, get a replacement from a website like eBay.

You might of had one of the wires connected from the TV to the PS2 damaged and may need new ones or just make sure that the wires connecting each other from the TV to the PS2 are well connected. My little brother use to drop my PS2 a lot too and that happened to me once, but it turned out to only be that the wire got pulled too much when it fell and it disconnected from the TV to the PS2 and I had to only put it in well.

If it updated then some of the PS2 games are not "reverse-compatible".

Ps2 dosn't play all games

so the problem might be in the version of the game (PAL or NTSC ) so i think u'd better check ur games version that's compatible with the ps2 version

that probably means that the disk is bad because that happens to me to alot with guitar hero or that u will need to put something on top of the ps2 were u put the disk in so that will keep it straite if that doesnt work then its the laser or the hard drive

Wont play playstation 2 games

This can occur if the Playstation has been knocked or dropped. On the slim version if you remove the screws underneath and remove the top cover you may find the the small drive shaft has been dislodged from the motor. Push it back into place refit cover and screws. This fixed my PS2 with this fault.

you need to get a laser disk which cleans the inside of the ps2 especially for ps2 games and if that doesnt work then you need to get someone to undo all the case and clean it themselves hope that helps :)
