Hi. Can I change/modify a compression/memory board of a Nikon D2HS to work on a Nikon D2X? They are very similar, altough the main diference is the firmware. Waiting for an help. Best regards, Jo

Sometimes the USB connector can be re soldered to the main circuit board by a repair tech, Nikon won't do this they will just replace the board with a new one, You have to find Independent Shop. TC

Sounds like there is a problem with the image compression board. Send it to Nikon - replacing the board requires programming with Nikon's proprietary program.

Could you be a little more specific about "does not work"? Does the lens not fit? Can you not view through the lens when it's attached? Does it not autofocus? Does it not meter the exposure properly?

Having received no response in over a month, I assume one of those programs suited the purpose.

The camera is probably in Auto Mode. Set it to manual and you can change your ISO, Shutter, and Apeture settings.

You can't view live images on the monitor; the D2X does not have a Live View capability. A suitable version of Nikon Camera Control Pro may allow you to connect the D2X to a computer.

i have little faith that this can be done, as i tried doing it with epoxy - my favorite, never-fails adhesive - and it didn't work. i think if you can get your camera to Nikon, though, they'll replace the whole door with another whose rubber isn't likely to come off. i read someone online saying they took their D2x in for some other repair and Nikon replaced the door without even asking him...whether they did it for free, i don't know, but i'd hope so, since the rubber falling off in the first place is really their fault.

This is best for a Nikon authorized camera shop to repair. You have a very nice camera, let a professional show it the proper care it needs.
