HP Pavilion dv9000t display works only in VGA when on AC

The problem is this. I have a HP Pavilion 9000t. The display on the laptop works fine on all resolutions when I run it on the battery. As soon as I try to run it on AC power the display flickers off and on and the screen is garbled. I only have this problem when I try to display any higher resolutions than in safemode or vga mode. I have a nvidia 7600go with 512 MB of memory. The AC adapter works fine because it's charging the battery and I get the same problem on other AC adapters. If I start in safemode or vga mode with the laptop plug in the dislay works fine but as soon as I go to any other higher resolution the display goes crazy. I've used recovery disks for my laptop to return my laptop to factory settings and have installed the latest driver for the video card from HP. I'm stumped. Does anyone have any idea what's going on.

Hi,

After analysis your issue with display, it's seems your laptop's display card gets corrupted or faulty....

so request you visit at HP service centre and ask him for resolution.

Thanks

I have a hp pavilion dv9000t 17" Notebook Laptop

I seriously wouldnt be flashing/updating the BIOS unless you really have a need to. Some computers really dont like to work anymore after doing. If everything is working fine dont touch it. The only time ive ever upgraded BIOS is on older computers some of which wouldnt boot from CD or some wouldnt read large Hard Drives. Yours is quite a nice modern laptop dont touch it. Got a hp dv 6000 power on but screen display is

Sleep mode was originally implemented simply as a screen saver. In order to resolve the above issue you need to press CTL, ALT, DEL keys. As it awakens the computer and returns back to the Desktop screen and normal operation without rebooting your pc.

One minute it will work perfect, next minute it will give endless trouble

I have a hp pavilion dv9000t that works fine. It needed 38 vista updates right out of the box.Since then another 10 - 15 updates were added. Be sure to enable automatic updates , you can also navigate to MS update site.

Check out page 86 for the display schematics. Page 120 outlines the dis-assembly. Page 154 actually describes the screws of which you speak. You may be able to purchase them locally.

My hp pavillion dv9000's hinge broke. But I was able to use it after. Then I tried to close it..and it just shut off and it will not come on. I want to know what I can do to fi it

HP *had* issued service alert 08112101 which covers the left display hinge failure.
HP Notebook Left Display Hinge Program
HP Pavilion Notebook
model series affected: dv9000, dv9100, dv9200, dv9400.

This program recently ended on May 31, 2009, but HP may still allow for a grace period.

Otherwise, you'll need the following:
Display panel back panel enclosure (single lamp) 432957-001
Display hinge kit (single lamp) 432963-001
LCD bezel w/ webcam (single lamp) 432955-001

Trained pro's should be able to do this in about 20mins, there is partial lower case disassembly and complete LCD housing dis/re-assembly.

Hp pavilion dv9267ea problem with nvidia Display

I want to share my experienced with 2 units HP notebook; Presario V3000 (V3737tu) and Pavillion dv2000 (dv2505tx).
The notebooks have problem with Intel & NVidia VGA driver , but all the problem now solved by using microsoft display driver (Standard VGA), this way can solving the problem of lowest 4-bit (600x480) and spliting into 8 screen that makes me upset.
This like a virus/worm/malware/trojan or whatever that can makes us very upset ... please also do scan & clean virus/worm/malware/trojan with all free that can be download ... (I am using AVG, Norman Malware cleaner, Virus effect remover, PCMAV) ... Now, 1 of my notebook now can use back NVidia driver again .... the other is still scanning/cleanning, still using Microsoft VGA Standard driver and still working well ...

My opinion is that the video card is crunked. Just put this opinion in a hat, then get the rest of the opinions and then draw from the hat.
