Question about ULINE U-Line 1175BEVS-00 1000 Series 24" Reversible Door Beverage Center Refrigerator with Dual Cooling Zones in Stainless Steel 1175BEVS-00

1 Answer

My U-Line beverage cooler is indicating an E5 error code and the unit will not get cold. What is this telling me?

I have unplugged the unit to try resetting it, but to no avail. I have cleaned all the dust off the cooling coils and the compressor seems to be running, but the unit will not cool down. Any suggestions? I am thinking the thermistor may be bad, but not sure where it is located so I can check it with a meter or replace it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am not familiar with this unit but in guessing but I would not assume the thermistor is bad, actually if as you say the compressor is running that is all the thermistor can do. My first guess is the condenser needs cleaning, that is the area where it gets warm. If that is clean then the possibility of a refrigerant leak is there. If not that then the compressor most likely has a bad valve in it. I would suggest contacting a refrigeration tech after everything has been cleaned and it still does not cool.

If not cooling check to see if the compressor is starting and cooling the freezer after you defrost it . Then if you still have issues write back with symptoms.

My fridge (GE GSL25) develops frost on everything and ice dispensor freezes solid

It doesn't cool
  1. Condenser coils
Make sure you dust off the condenser coils to prevent dust build up and overheating due to it overworking. Simply unplug and use a long coil cleaning brush to get rid of debris.
  1. Check seals
If your refrigerator door seal is broken, warm air is pushing its way inside the unit, thus causing it to not cool properly. Prevent this from happening by replacing your seal and keeping the cool air inside.
  1. Temperature controls
Ensure that your thermostat is set correctly, usually 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit.
  1. Defective condenser fan
When this fan is defective, cold air is prevented from flowing through the vents. It may require replacement.
  1. Compressor issues
Check if there are clicking sounds coming from the compressor as it tries to start. If there is a clicking, it is one of only two options, either the start capacitor or a bad compressor. A start capacitor is fairly inexpensive whereas a sealed system repair on the compressor is very expensive and often not cost effective. Search Over 2 1 Million Appliance Parts

There is only the coil in the freezer and a fan moves the air to the refrigerator. Check the fan inside the unit. IT might also be icing on the coil that is causing no air flow.

Refrigerator not cooling properly

There are several things that can cause cooling problem with your refridgerator. The first and most common is dirt dust and lint clogging the condenser coils. These coils are usually located underneath the refridgerator and have a small fan that blows air across them. If they are clogged, the refridgerator cannot get rid of the heat to allow it to cool properly. To check and clean these coils you must first pull out the refridgerator and unplug it. Remove the lower panel ( usually made of a cardboard material) this will give you access to the compressor and fan and coils. Check the coils for dust, dirt and lint. Clean out carefully with a vacuum cleaner or brush( you can get a brush specially made for this ) check the fan motor to see if it spins freely( some units may not have a fan) plug unit in to see if fan runs (make sure to temporarily turn thermostat down colder to turn on compressor and fan). If fan does not come on with compressor you may need to replace it. Put unit back in place and see if that solves the problem. If this does not help, you will probably have to have a appliance repairman check out unit.Hope this helps.

My whirlpool ED5VHEXV001 frig is not cooling well; freezer is doing just fine. Found beaucoup dust clogging the heat dissipating coils under frig. Cleaned 1st row of heat dissipating coils. Frig is now...

You can purchase special cleaning brushes to do that - BUT since I purchased one, I used it when I first got it and then put it away somewhere and can't find it. So I had to figure something else out, and what seems to work the best is to turn on the vacuum and put on the floor in front of the unit and then use an air compressor blowing it out from the rear. While it does blow dust into the kitchen, it seems to work well as cleaning out the condenser coils.

if it is making a lot of noise then your compressor is going out, if it is full of dirt dust or debree vacume it, or if you have a air compressor, then blow it out, but unplug your fridge to let the compressor cool down, if it is cold outside and you can wheel it there with no problem then you can clean it . you might have a freon leak or a stuck valve let it get cooled off and try again

I own a maytag rsw 2700 refrig. motors run lights

Hi jtc1280 when you say motors are running, does that mean the compressor motor or is this just the cooling fans.
I suggest you remove the cover on the rear bottom to access the compressor motor and check the compressor by putting your hand on the compressor be cautious when doing this the compressor may be hot if not working correctly un plug the compressor and plug back up with hand on compressor see if you can fill the compressor running this motor runs with very little noise. If this motor is very hot insure that the colling fans are working and also that the condensing coil is free of lint build up which can make the unit over heat if this area has a lot of lint build up unplug unit clean the bottom out with air hose and vacuum if no air is available just use a dust brush to clean good let the compressor cool for 30 or 40 minutes before plugging back in.
