they probley forgot to install they disc my friend had that same problem with his car he got his from japan to and it did that and he took it back and they hooked it up to a computer and installed something and it worked fine after that

You will need the nav disk 1. It sounds like your deck was not completely set up, try setting everything with the nav disk in it

The nav discs come in a set of two. Disc 1 and Disc 2. Insert disc 1 first, if unit does not respond or read nav disc, then you may have a bad copy of the nav disc or incorrect copy.
