I have a Mac5000. It's currently printing very light. Do I need to change a cartridge? What is best resolution? Is there something I need to adjust on machine?

We've tried printing on correct paper and it was printing fine, then it began printing light. Help!

What causes orange light to flash 4 times?

It is related to a badly installed or empty print cartridge: http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/product_ranges/printers/pixma/error_codes/#1600

Refer to printer documentation after new ink cartridge installed. what does it mean

Hi marley6

INK CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES

You don't give the make and model of your printer, so I can only give your general rather than specific advice tailored to your printer.

This message probably refers you to the Instruction Manual or quick Start Guide that came with the printer.

This will have been a warning about following the correct procedure when changing cartridges. The manual would probably advise you to run a print head cleaning operation to clear any ink that may have dried due to the fine micro-nozzles in the print head being exposed to the air while you were changing the cartridges. It might then go on to advise you to print an alignment page to enable you to make adjustments, if necessary, to ensure you obtain the optimum print resolution.

I hope this helps

How to change print size

The printer prints whatever it's told to by the computer. Your printer really doesn't control the fonts.

When you are printing stuff from the internet (web pages, email, etc.) the reason for the small print is that it is related to the size of the monitor and it's viewing setup (the higher the screen resolution, the smaller the print will be when printing it out even though it looks good on the monitor).

One way you can make the print larger when printing internet stuff & emails is by changing the print view size on the screen to a larger size in your web browser (this is separate from your other setting you've already setup). Go to the menu bar at the top (i.e. Internet Explorer), click on "View," then "Text Size" then select a size like "Larger" or "Largest" (something higher than what you're currently set to.)

Another method is to go to your menu bar at the top of your web browser, click on "File" then "Print Preview". At the top of the window there should be a small window with "Shrink To Fit" in it. Click the arrow for a drop down list and choose something probably above 90% or more (maybe 100 or 125%) and see how it changes the print size of what is to be printed out.

The only other method is to copy & paste the text into a text editing software like Word and adjust the text size there. If you're using a text program, then you simply adjust the size of the text to a 12 or 14 point, or larger, font size (adjust depending on the font and size you need) and that should do the trick.

Printing is very weak and difficult to read even though I changed and put a new cartridge in the printer It is a Lexmark X215

hi,
The resolution on a monitor is 72 dots per inch. The resolution on paper is about 300 dots per inch. What looks good on a screen often looks bad in print. The picture you are printing is probably saved at a resolution which looks good on the screen but not on paper.

are you using the right quality paper and are the printing settings adjusted correctly? If your printer is set for photo quality paper and you are using plain paper or vice verse, you wont get good results.

*please clean cartridges with the automatic system.
*Tried auto alignment setting
*Try to clean nozzles of cartridges by humid (wet) fabrics.

please try all the steps for the problem to be solved.

Poor copy quality

there are 3 reason if the copy gray & less sharp:
1) the toner you are using is not compatible very well with the cartridge unit if you changed other compatible toner.
2) the cartridge going near the life-cycle, (also cause print blurred)
3) the photo drum going near the life-cycle
you may try to change the quality toner (original factory). or
change the cartridge if it is out of the life-cycle

Samsung ML 1740 Printing Very Light

If the entire page is light, the print resolution setting is too light or Toner Save Mode is on. Adjust the print resolution and Toner Save Mode in the printer properties.

Make sure TONER SAVE MODE is NOT ENABLED!
