If you connected the desktop with a hardwire connection (ethernet cable or usb cable) and the laptop is connected wirelessly, then the Desktop needs to be "awake" for the laptop to print. What I did was connect the printer to the network with an ethernet cable to the router, either wireless router or standard. Then you have a seamless connection for both computers independent of each other.

Can i purchase a printed manual for acer chromebook 11 cb3-111

Here's the PDF Manual link, if you have a printer just print it, or save it to your Laptop by right clicking on the link and save as or save link as (whatever name) to your desktop or downloads folder.

Hope it works out for you.

as no one has answered this I will give it a go .
Check or download the latest printer driver for whatever operating system the laptop is running.
Could be a dhcp server clash from the wi fi print server and the link sys router . Check there are two DCHP servers and if there are deactivate on and use the other .
check the ip addresses in use on the laptop and on the desktop and the printer. make sure subnet mask are all the same but ip addresses are unique but within the network range. eg 198.168.0.2 - 198.168.0.254 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
or 10.0.0.2 - 10.0.0.254
check the ip address for print server is different to the ip address for the router and make sure DCHP range does not clash with router assigned ip addresses .

Cannot print from laptop to printer using wireless print server

This is probably the Software Firewall on your laptop

you should probably tell your firewall software that you have an internal network (Laptop-desktop-printer) you should add the IP range of the wireless network as a trusted network.
