Why is water is continuously flowing from the detergent drawer, even when the washer is turned off?

I think an inlet valve has a fault or has gone rusty inside becouse its worn
you should get someone in too fix it for you
or
you can tell which valve is faulty
usualy at the back there is a red hot water and a blue cold water
if you have both connected
turn off the red one under the sink and see if the water stops
try the blue next
if it stops then replace the valve
associated with the bad water intake
viola a fixed machine
two connections and two screws
you shouldnt use it just now incase the valve decides to open fully and stay open can reck your home

Matsui mwm145 washer when first turned on water fills it soap drawer then straight on to the floor not even filling the drum! Help is it fixable?

This used to be a common problem with powder detergents as there would invariably be some remaining in the drawer which would be damp and caked and if not removed would inevitably one day be washed out of the drawer and block the drain into the tub.

It is much less of a problem with liquid detergent but it is still necessary to (say weekly) pull the detergent drawer right out for a wash in the sink and then inspect the drawer cavity to ensure the drain is clear, carefully removing any caked detergent...

A white stain or powdery residue remains after washing dark colors

This often occurs as a result of overloading the washer. If a washer is overloaded the water cant get in between all of the clothes to thoroughly rinse them out. That will cause streaks of white (which is most likely the unrinsed detergent).
Also, make sure you are using the correct water level setting for the load size.
If a washer is overloaded continuously it will cause premature parts failure.
Other cuases can be related to water hardness and the type of detergent you are using.
Try using a detergent with smaller granules or even a liquid detergent.
Make sure you are not using to much detergent for the load.
One other thing, turn the water off to the washer, remove the hoses from the back of the washer and check the screens that they are not corroded, if they are replace them. You can get these at Ace hardware, lowes and maybe even wal-mart. Corroded screen will impede water flow hense not allowing a good water flow during rinse cycle.

The issue with my Duet currently is that it begins to fill, then water starts to flow out of the detergent drawer. I suspect an obstruction somewhere near the intake hose leading to the drum. Unless of...

Try using a piece of springy wire, such as from a coat hanger to clear the blockage. Put a loop at the end of the wire to prevent the sharp end from sticking through the intake hose. There are products available for cleaning the drain outlet on sinks consisting of springy wire which may be of use. The only danger is that they may get stuck in the intake hose especially if it has a corrugated interior surface.
Probably the best thing to do first is to remove the detergent drawer and pour hot water, not boiling into the space where the drawer goes. You may need a funnel or a bottle with a long neck to do this. The hot water might be sufficient to dissolve any powder build up.

Water is pouring out of my dispenser drawer

I have read other folks say that this has happened to them when a sock or wash cloth gets stuck behind the rubber seal of the door. There is a pipe that drains the water from your detergent tray and it may be clogged with a sock. Try feeling around behind the rubber seal in proximity to the detergent tray and see if there is a piece of clothing stuck in the pipe that drains the detergent tray. Also remove the tray and check the pipe from that end too.

Whirlpool duet washer leaks from detergent drawer when filling with water

We just had the same problem. We took off the three screw on the back to remove the top panel on washer. From there we took the screws off the electric face plate on the front. Be careful, there is a screw located inside the door. You must open the door to get to the screw. Next we removed the bottom panel door and then the four screws to the mail metal panel on the front. Hold that panel because the rubber gasket is still connected. Then you will see a rubber hose directly under the drawer. Take the rubber hose off at the bottom nearest the drum. We found a sock that had wedged itself up and was causing a back up. After I cleared it, the washer works just fine.

Eurotech washer Leaking water front detergent drawer

Hi,
I'm not familiar with your machine but usually there are nozzles above the soap drawer which squirt the water on to the detergent compartments at the appropriate times . If you can take out the soap tray have a look to see if the nozzle bit has come loose and is pointing towards you...also check that the outlets from the soap tray are not clogged with...soap.

Failing that, you could partially turn off the water supply to the machine so the pressure is reduced. Sure it will take longer to fill, but you won't get so wet.

Hope this helps. If this "fixes ya", I'd appreciate a rating for my reply, If not, please delay the rating and add a comment with any extra info you have and I will try to think of something else.

Thanks, D

He4t - monthly bleach cleaning cycle

Washer Monthly Maintenance Procedure:
This cycle uses higher water volumes in combination with liquid chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washing machine.
  1. remove any clothing or items from washer
  2. CLOSE door (duh)
  3. open dispenser drawer and remove the detergent compartment and set aside. No laundry products will be added at this time. You will be required to add only liquid chlorine bleach at a later step.
  4. For Kenmore Elite HE products press a specific combo of buttons.
  • Select Rinse/Spin program
  • select low spin speed
  • select warm/cold water temp.
  • select 2nd rinse option
  • push the "end of cycle" signal button 4 times within 5 seconds to start the cycle
The machine will fill and run a short sensing cycle. This will take about 3 minutes.

Step 5
  1. The washer will provide 4 short tones. Check the: ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING display for the codes indicated below:
  • if "Ab" (add bleach) displayed in the estimated time remaining window (you'll hear 4 short tones) proceed to Step 6.
  • if "rL" (remove load) displayed in the Estimated Time Remaining window an error tone will sound. The door will unlock.
-open the door and remove the items from the washer.
-continue the cycle by pressing the START button.

NOTE: The water in the unit will dispense for a moment, then the door will unlock, lock again, and then the cycle will continue with another check for items in the washer.

The machine will fill and run a short cycle to determine whether any items have been left in the washer. This will take approx 3 minutes.

the washer will repeat Step 5 until it can determine that there are NO items n the washer and will display "Ab" (add bleach).
6. Add liquid chlorine bleach.
  • If using the maintenance procedure for the first time, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1 cup liquid chlorine bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.
  • If doing a monthly maintenance procedure, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1/3 cup bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid chlorine bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.

    NOTES:
  • Water will be flowing into the dispenser drawer when the bleach is added ... this is normal.
  • Do not add any detergent to this cleaning cycle. Use of more than 1 cup of bleachw ill cause product damage over time.
7. Once the cleaning cycle has begun, allow the cycle to complete. An est cycle time will appear on the display.

8. After the cleaning cycle is complete, leave the door open, clightly to allow for better ventilation and drying of washer interior.

9. Replace the detergent compartment divider.

LEAKING DISPENSER DRAWER

Refer to your manual regarding the dispenser tray. You could try using a tooth brush to clean out dry detergent, which could be blocking the flow of water. You can take out tray to clean, ref manual.
