You can buy a new battery in ebay and replace it. It is very easy: unscrew the four screws and open carefully without sd card(look at the phoneplug and sound roll). You will see the battery with its connectors... same as you bought it.
Is it just possible you left the Navman mounted on the screen in hot weather whilst away from the vehicle? I made a little white jacket for mine with a heat reflecting liner.
Your Navman is in Demonstration mode and is demonstrating a route that you have set up. It should be flashing SIM alternately with the time taken on the route so far. If you don't want the 'Demonstrator' to operate, you can turn it off. See your manual. If you have not got one, you can download it from the Navman site. I only have the iCN510 and I have to go to the main Menu screen, tap 'Route Information', then Cancel Route to cancel the current demonstration. How long are you waiting and are you moving while it is trying to acquire signal? These receivers are using older circuitry that may take up to 20 minutes to first acquire a signal from a cold start. If you are moving it may take longer!!! The good news is that after you have initially acquired a location, if you turn the unit off it will only take a minute or so to reacquire after it has "warmed" up.
