Hi
If you can't scan then it sounds as if your computer doesn't have the appropriate driver installed for scanning. There are a lot of drivers and other downloads here:
Printers
including a scanner driver for MAC OS 10.3 to 10.7. Since Yosemite is 10.10, I don't know if this would work for you, but I think it your most promising solution.
It may be worth disconnecting the printer and connecting it directly to the computer. If it scans and prints when directly connected then it is likely that the print server is causing the problem and if as you say there is no Mac software for it you may be in a no-win situation. The fact that you can print through it however does mean there is hope, because I have found this page which is described as manual installation of the server on Mac OS here
FAQ ID 347 How to install Print Server manually on MAC OS
but the OS is 10.6.4 so, I'm not sure.
Not as helpful as I had hoped but perhaps you can get something from this screed

How do I use my MFC-7860dw printer as a scanner. It has worked in the past but says ""check connection"" now. It will print and copy.

I have a mac and I can't just hit the scan button. I need to go through my settings to my printer. Then when I open the MFC printer I have to select print or scan and operate from that window. I have never been able to do anything right from the scan button on the machine

I cannot connect to my 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless (3crwps10075-us) Print Server 3crwps10075

Check you firewalls. Sometimes you will have to allow certain mac addresses or certain ip addresses (may be less secure than the mac address), then change sharing level to full, before things begin to work.

Please post back and let me know if this helps!

Does anyone know where to get drivers for a Brother MFC 7340 for windows server 2003? I have found windows server 2000, xp, vista, and windows 7 drivers but not server 2003.

If there is no driver ... that means the OS does not support the hardware. Your options are ... Microsoft, Brother, third party or learn how to program and write one. You can appeal to MS and Brother ... my guess is they will not likely write a new driver for a 7 year old OS.

Does the MFC 7340 have a ethernet connection? You might be able to print to it as a network device through a 'qualifying' computer ... Copy the document from the computer running Server 2003 to a XP or other computer and print from there ... just an idea.

Mfc-210c will not print

do you run mac or win as a pc system?

for pc: delete all drivers by help of the agressive remover tool (see: www.brother.com choose your country, your mfc and download the drivers needed).

Take mfc from power outlet and disconnect from usb port. Run the above mentioned procedures and reinstall the drivers again. When asked, replug mfc to power again.
Connect the usb cable directly to pc!!!!!!

If you run mac I cant give you an adivece yet, because I m not common to mac os yet (end of year I will know better cause will get an imac then, sorry!)

WEP Security is not strong enough and can be comprise within min! Buy a new print server it will make you sleep better and happier! Setup your IP as Stactic especially on the print server it needs to stay the same Log into the router and change the password, and look at your ip range, if your are using zone alarm or any type of firewall the ip range must match.
