It depends on your connections for one thing. I did find this piece of information on the DVD player:
"One thing they do not state (in the manual) is that if you are playing it through your Scart socket to your TV. Your TV's Scart socket must be PAL60 compliant".

If they both have HDMI sockets I would get a HDMI cable and connect via that. You will also get a better picture than a scart.

If you are using a scart the connector can also become faulty either inside or a faulty pin so check that too.

Cannott get a picture on my tv from my DVD/VHS COMBO

Your DVD player should be connected to either the Yellow White Red connections on your TV set (same color to same color -- dvd OUT to tv IN )

OR it should be connected using the RF cables and connected inline AFTER the Direct TV Box....the box would block the DVD; and possibly the Direct TV Master box would apply 19 Volts to the DVD modulator....destroying the modulator.

Always OUTput to INput on the connections...

Also try with a new set of connections. make sure all the ports are ok.

Samsung DVD-V3650 DVD Player / VCR Combo no sound when connected via component cable

Component connections between your DVD player and TV (they will be colored red, blue, and green) carry video only. You will need to connect two more cables for left and right audio channels. The connectors for these audio cables will be colored white and red for left and white respectively.

Why is my screen blank while audio is fine?

These are the possibilities:-
1.Check the connections. you need to connect yellow cable to yellow jack(I assume you are using AV cable to connect)
2.Change settings of your DVD player accordings to your TV, like NTSC, PAL etc.

DMR-ES10....no image on tv screen

Try connecting the recorder with the yellow composite connector and make sure your tv is set to that input it may be that your tv says "dvd" but it is trying to use a different input then you are connected to. Some tv's have multiple video connections for one input, they should but not always detect which you are connected to. Make sure the input you are trying to use has only one connection in use.
