Okay, try this. The most difficult encryption software where you cannot open, nor remove it, because of a lost or forgotten password is Folder Lock. I've tried many possible words as password to no avail. Folder Lock is determined to stay locked and causing me much anguish, as I haven't been able to open it since 2008. I even made dozens queries with the company of this software, newsoftwares.net and they hadn't helped me one bit, however, they did insist that the serial number and registration key that came with the software bypasses a forgotten password, wrong! I tried both the serial numbers and it didn't bypass anything, I tried the registration key and it didn't bypass the lost password. So, they're not really helpful nor experts in this field of having created an encryption software without a 'spare key', and what they had claimed about the serial numbers and registration key would bypass a password is unproven. I asked them to provide me an accurate answer and they insisted that the serial numbers and registration key are correct codes and it should open Folder Lock. All in all, I lost faith with this inconsistent company who makes an encryption software that has no further options in case of a lost or forgotten password. Even buying a new car you will be provided with a set of spare keys or remotes, but newsoftwares.net doesn't provide you with a backup or a password bypass option in case you forget or lose the password. I do not recommend this software. it's too risky. Once you forget the password, you're completely alone. But while this is the case, is there anyone who has been able to bypass a Folder Lock password, or removed it from the computer without losing all the encrypted files? I would like to hear from you. Please do not suggest Safe Mode and other nonsense. This software is a brute that stays brute and no matter how much information the tech guys are posting on the Internet on 'How to remove Folder Lock without a password...' and so on, it's not proven and it's not explanatory; and halfway, it makes no sense because neither had worked when tried. I have Folder Lock v6 with almost 9 million Kb. I will thank the person who provides me with the right answers to free my locked files and folders from the vicious grip of Folder Lock. The company hadn't been able to help me and each time I ask them they provide me with a less than a satisfactory answer they again mention the serial numbers and registration key as the by-passer of a password, when I had told and re-told them that the serial numbers and registration keys do not by-pass anything. The problem with this type of thing is that there are liability issues. How does anyone know that you are the owner of the files being stored on that drive? Nobody with any conscience will help you circumvent security on a digital system.. It's that simple. First of all, it's illegal. If I helped you and you gained access to someone else's files, I'd be liable. They likely aren't retrievable anyway. Most modern encryption schemes are so good that it's impossible to reverse them without the key. If they truly are your files and you lost the password...YOU LOST THE FILES. It's your responsibility. Best practice for things like this is to write the password down on a piece of paper and put it in a secure location. Preferably a safe. If you did not do that, and relied on your brain to store that stuff, best you can do is go see a hypnotist to try and remember. Sorry.. I know it' not what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth.
