I have no audio on two cable TV channels. Is it possible to mute audio on specific cable channel numbers? And if so, how can I get the audio back?

I've scrolled through the setup menus by remote to try and find a fix, and I've looked at the manual online, but so far have not found a fix. Should I try re-calibrating the cable/channel selections by running auto-setup? But if that doesn't work, is there a way to un-mute a specific channel number?

You cannot normally mute just certain channels. It's usually all or none. Do you subscribe to the channels that have no sound?

SOURCE: Can receive only channels 1 thru 27 although connected to cable with 70 channels.

First you need to check if your set is in the cable mode and not antena mode,if the set is in cable make sure is in the standard cable mode and not another type of cable like HRC,if it is change it and try the autoprogram to set the available channels.I hope it helps.

The problem could be a defective video IC which is a Surface Mount Ic5301 (An5367fb) and a bugger to replace. IF that is the culprit, it probably would not be worth repairing the set.

You are probably talking about the main menu that appears when the TV is taken off the AC power outlet, to get rid of this page just turn the tv off and on again and it should give you access to what ever channel was tuned before, if your game console has an RF out, your TV should be set to channel 3 ir 4, if the console has composite outs the change the channel until the TV goes to Aux in or Video in. Retrevo.com has an instruction manual available which you can download free, just in case you need more informantion, if the channel keys do not work, then you may have to get a universal remote ,they are fairly inexpensive and will come in very handy at least for the basic functions or just have theTV worked on.

I have no audio on two TV channels (Disney and Nickelodeon). Is it possible to mute audio on individual channels? I am guessing this happened by mistake.

Have you checked your parental control settings? That would be about the only way I know of the to mute certain channels. But if your locked out a channels there would normally be no video either.

Channel numbers missing

local channels are usually below a channel 1000. they are always on same assigned channel. If your cable box or tv has it, it has option to not display channels with no service on them. you can't reassign the channel numbers. they are channels but not being displayed.

Missing cable channels

You need to contact your cable service provider about this, it is a signal issue not a TV issue.

I have a Grundig TV P37-080GB or G.CG61-02GBM bought in UK. Using Auto Tuning I can find local TV channels but the audio to each of these channels does not work. I get a hissing sound as gets when not...

Hi.

If you are using the TV in UK, and you are using the internal digital tuner (aerial cable to TV), then the TV may be defective (faulty tuner or audio circuit). In that case call Grundig at the number listed on manual.
If TV is using an external digi box (eg. freeview), then check connection from box to TV, test using a different connection cable. Test using a DVD, if TV works on DVD replace the digi box.

If you are trying to use the TV outside UK, and you are using the internal digital tuner, then there may be a problem with signal. In that case purchase a tuner box and connect it to the TV.

Channels 3, 4, 5, and 7 are mute. The mute button has no effect.

there should be an audio section of your tv
Go through each of your setting s and be sure nothing was changed. goto setup and reset to factory settings. your TV will do something funky and powercycle.
THAT should fix your problem.
if not, is your cable service through your VCR? if so, remove the vcr altogether and connect your cable services directly. All should now be a go.

Muted on Cerain Channels on Zenith SE2795W TV

Somewhere in it's lifetime, a user has set the 'user preference' to 'mute' while this channel was active. I don't know your specific set, but most TV's need a remote to work 'mute'.
Second hand set?
[A] check all buttons on TV for a crossed-out speaker symbol, or
[B] buy a universal remote and select pin for your set. Then,
Try these:
ZENITH - 000,001,004,023,038,058,059,064,073,121,135,136,153

Tv problems

Hi,

I am assuming that you are using cable and not an aerial/antenna.

On your concern "...channels do not tune...correct channel numbers...", it is possible that when you re-tuned the TV your setting was set to AIR or STD, try to re-tune again but this time pls verify that you are in CABLE mode. If on the other hand you are using aerial/antenna, then it is the other way around.

Channel 0 would automatically be your Audio/Video (which is where your DVD/VCR is connected). If you re-tune, chances are that Channel 0 ) would be back. To be on the safe side, pls power on likewise the DVD/VCR.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

No audio or video

Hi,

If you can see the channel number as well as the volume setting when you press on the appropriate buttons on the remote, then it would seem that what happened is that your TV went into muting (video and audio). This can only be brought about if the TV is not receiving any signal from your cable or aerial. This is a built-in feature. Another possibility is that the tuner section of the TV has some issues. To determine whether cable or tuner, pls try installing a known operational VCR and play a good tape. Connect the RF OUT of the VCR to the CABLE/ANT IN of the TV. Select channel 3 or 4 and should you be able to watch the tap video, then you have just confirmed that it is your cable (or aerial). If on the other hand there is likewise no display on either 3 or 4, then you have just confirmed that somethings needs to be done internally in the tuner section.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Help

This is possible a number of ways. Depending on the type of TV you have, it may have audio out on the back of the TV. This will be two jacks that are RED and WHITE, and it should be labeled "TV OUT" or "OUT". Use an RCA audio cable and connect these two jacks to the TV jacks of the same colors on your surround sound unit. If your TV does NOT have audio out jacks, you can still accomplish this by use of a VCR. Just run your main TV input [coaxial cable from antenna or cable/dish] into the VCR, and then out to your TV as normal. Leave your TV on channel 3 [or 4, or whichever channel the VCR uses]. If you're using a regular antenna, you can switch channels on the VCR. If you're using cable, you should be able to just change channels on the cable box. This will give you surround sound from an older TV without audio outs. But most larger and newer TVs have an audio out jack on the back. Hope this helps!
