Try re-installing the app. In the case of the new iOS 6, it should ask you whether it is allowed to access your camera roll, if you declined then, that may cause problems. Re-install the app and see if that fixes it?

So why won't it let you? What type of message are you getting?

Or you can use Windows Photo Gallery or any other photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I suggest you to download all the photos to the computer (Copy to CDs if you want) and delete them from the camera.
From there onwards you will be able to see which photos have been downloaded.

When you downloaded earlier, did you forget to use the "safely remove hardware" function?

On most camera's you can not do this. You would need to plug the camera into the computer and download the internal memory from the camera to the computer.

You can do it thru several programs. But the easy way is creating a back up of your documents files and folders doing this:

(*) Start >> Programs >> Accesories >> System tools >> BackUp

Then the file created copy onto a CD or USb device

Then insert the CD or USB device in your new computer and use the same way (*) to restore the backuped files
