How do I reset configuration

Tried to reset to factory default, reads SET barcode fine, but the RESET barcode scan returns the bad read beep. Scan the END barcode and programming mode is exited. Have syncronized with the base station successfully too.

SOURCE: DS6708 symbol scanner freezes keyboard

Have you tried taking the battery out of the scanner and then reinserting it? THis should reset the scanner to some degree.

It really depends which barcodes you scanned in the manual.

Your best chance seems to be a reset to the original settings, for which you may need to look at the manual.

SOURCE: LS2208 beeps to ignolage the scan but puts no information

I don't know if this applies to the LS22208.

Symbol Support FAQ says;

A slow continuous flashing LED on the LS9208 indicates that the LS9208 has been put into “programming mode” and is ready to scan programming bar codes. Once the LS9208 is correctly programmed, the LED should stop flashing and remain on, indicating that the scanner is ready for use.

A fast, continuously flashing LED on the LS9208 indicates an internal problem. When the LED is in this state, the LS9208 laser is also shut off for regulatory reasons.

We support these for some big retailers. When they call with that issue 99/100 it's reseat the cable from the base of the scanner (or the system if accesible), no re-programming).

SOURCE: 4 beep error when scanning barcode

The four beep error is a communications error. Usually it indicates the scanne is not configured properly. If the scanner is connecting with the CBA-K01-S07PAR cable and you are using a PS/2 keyboard you should have scanned the IBM PC/AT barcode from Adobe page 56 of 342 of the LS2208 Product Reference Guide.

If you do not have a PS/2 keyboard attached and are using a USB to PS/2 adapter you should scan the IBM AT Notebook from that same page. If the scanner does not start working immediately you may have to reboot your system. If the scanner still does not work the CBA-U01-S07ZAR USB cable might be a better choice.

If you are not connecting with either of these cables and are still getting the four beep error a call to the Motorola support center may be in order. Their phone number is 800-653-5350.

The barcode reader eclipse ms5145 powers on,the laser light blinks and beeps at scan by not scan the barcode

It could be either one of two things, first of all will this unit scan any barcodes, or is it just one particular one it will not scan. If nothing scans and if no special programming was added to the scanner I would consider defaulting the unit back to factory settings. This procedure can be found in the manual that came with the scanner or here is a link http://www.honeywellaidc.com/CatalogDocuments/00-02544%20Rev%20K%202-11.pdf *** If you are going to do this please confirm that no special programming was done to this *** but normally they are ready to scan right out the box. So scan the barcode to "enter/exit configuration" the unit will beep tree times, then scan the "recall defaults" and the unit will beep once. Then scan the "enter/exit configuration" once more. Then try to scan a retail barcode. Hope this helps.

When I scan with Symbol DS6707 I normally get letter b showing up after the scanned numbers. Please help!

There is probably an rule set on the scanner from the previous user. To be sure that you are not using any old settings. I would suggest to reset it to factory settings.
Connect the scanner to your Desktop PC. Download the Reference Guide for DS6707 at the page http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=8397807apdf Scan the Barcode Set All Defaults Scan the Barcode Erase All Rules
The scanner is now in factory settings and you can configure it as you need.

Not reading card

Hi m cantell. This is one of those issues that could have about 20 different causes. Fortunately, they are all quite easy to fix. I keep a general initial troubleshooting guide on my company's website (www.shiftintoblue.com/troubleshooting) give that a look-over and see if anything there solves your issue. If not, I've hosted Metrologic's configuration manual for you (www.shiftintoblue.com/resources/metrologic_config.pdf). Before you start scanning configuration barcodes, though, you'll need to know your scanner's communication method. If it is Keyboard Wedge or RS232, you'll be fine. If it is IBM46XX, USB (standard/low speed), or USB (full-speed USB/FSUSB), you will have to do a little more configuration and I will go over that at the end. After you know your communication method, go to page 11 and note the barcode 'Recall Defaults'. Print this page, and scan the barcode on the sheet. This will reset the unit to it's factory defaults (or, if your vendor took the time, the defaults they know you need to have) and should solve any problems within the unit.
As I mentioned before about communication methods, if you have IMB46XX, USB (regular), or USB (full speed) then you will need to do one the following.
For IBM46XX: use page 50 and scan the barcode "Load IBM46XX Defaults" and then "Enable IBM46XX Communication". This will enable IBM46XX communication.
For USB: use page 51 and scan the barcode "Enable Low Speed USB" and then "Load Low Speed USB Defaults". This enables regular USB (like you'd find on a PC) communication.
For full speed USB: use page 185 and scan "Enable Full Speed USB" and then "Load Integrated Full Speed USB Defaults". This will load the integrated FSUSB communication settings. If that doesn't work then scan "Full Speed USB Defaults". This will load the hardware's original FSUSB settings (if applicable).
A side note: FSUSB is very, very different from standard USB. If you have standard USB, do not use the FSUSB configurations out of desperation. Many of my clients (and myself once) have done this and can really make a mess of things. If you need more help, please feel free to send me a message or email me. I hope this helps. Good luck!

The problem with reading the barcode

Be sure the Flic scanner is set to the factory default configuration by scanning the Defaults bar code given above. Then check the Format options for Characters to Strip and Characters to Append (see page 10) and make sure these are set correctly. In order to scan the ?Factory Defaults? bar code in the Flic Operator?s Guide to reset your Flic scanner to the default settings: Select Flicware , Tools , Format and add the appropriate control character(s) in the Characters to Append box. Good luck.
