It is part of the Windows RSS platform that monitors the RSS feeds you've subscribed to. If you don't use it, you can block it, but would be best to also turn it off:

  1. In IE7 click the Tools button and select Internet Options from the pop-up menu.
  2. On the Content tab of the Internet Options dialog box, click the Settings button in the Feeds section of the dialog box.
  3. In the Feed Settings dialog box, uncheck the "Automatically check feeds for updates" check box.
Hopefully this will help. Thank you to Jerry on techguy.org for this answer!

I have a Microsoft sidewinder force feed 2 the light is blinking

Hi,
1.Which is the operating system installed on the computer?
2.Was the feature working properly earlier?
Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel has no driver for Windows Vista and Windows 7 provided by Microsoft. Therefore, some functions may miss,
very possibly including the problems you encountered.

I suggest you to install the XP driver in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the installation file and select properties.

2. Now click on the compatibility tab.

3. Under compatibility mode, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for".

4. From the drop down menu, select Windows XP(service pack 2).

5. Click Apply and then click OK.

Microsoft feed syncronisation encountered a problem and need to close . what is this problem ?

It means Internet Explorer's installation wasn't completely successful. Try going into Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs and uninstall IE. Then, go to Microsoft's website and download the newest installer.

WMI has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This is not unusual, Sometimes the software encounters a order that it cannot follow and looks into its error data and sends this message. It maybe a problem downloading an update from Windows, it could be a virus encounter, it could be malware ( Advertisers hijacking your desktop). If it occurs often, then you need to clean somethings out. See: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpperformance/thread/bb4e514d-9afc-41ba-b926-366d2da5e65e

I want to know which format of applications is valid on my xperia x1? is it a smart phone or a windows pocket phone?

Your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 has Windows Mobile software making it a windows pocket phone.
Synchronising etc is done via WMDC or Windows Mobile Device Centre as you may see it called and that can be found on Microsofts own website.

Why am I getting error message for Microsoft Feeds

This is a problem with Microsoft's RSS Feed Reader. As most people use a different Reader (or don't use RSS at all) this can be disabled. Please follow the instructions below to disable it.

Open Internet Explorer.
Click Tools>>then Internet Options.
Click on the Content tab.
At the bottom, under the Feeds section, click Settings.
Uncheck all boxes and click OK.
Click OK to close the window.
Close Internet Explorer and reopen.

Jornada 525 and Windows Media Player 9

Only a hint. Did you check the small print via the downloads for Pocket PC on the Microsoft web pages? If you download from the regular OS pages they don't mention that certain Pocket PC generations are not supported. I noticed this but only on Media Player downloads fom the pocket PC pages but it takes time to find this more detailed info. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/defau lt.mspx
