SOURCE: Connex 4600 turbo export radio

Hi,

On most mobile communications equipment, it is best that:
1. the power leads are directly wired to the battery terminals;
2. the bracket and radio body are grounded to the chassis of the vehicle;
3. a braided grounding strip be used in addition to the negative power lead; and/or
4. a gutter or trunk lip mounted antenna be used rather than magnetic. Antennas are better made of metal rod (not fiberglass) such as those made by Daiwa, Maldol, Oscar, Hokushin and others. The mount itself should use high quality RG58 coaxial cable such as those by Belden and others.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

THE TALK BACK VOLUME IS CONTROLLED BY THE MIC GAIN, TRY ADJUSTING YOUR TALK BACK VOLUME ABOUT TURNING THE MIC GAIN FROM 12 OCLOCK TO 6 OCLOCK, DO NOT WORRY YOU WILL NOT LOSE ANY OUT BOUND POWER UNLESS YOU TURN THE MIC GAIN BELOW 11 OCLOCK

SOURCE: Connex 4600 Turbo

Every tech. knows and every Connex owner Knows that once a Connex has been peaked and tuned and also had any mods done to it that the stock microphone that comes with it will not work as it should and then you will have bad feed back!! The best solution for this is buy a good Noise canceling microphone!! Such as an RK-56 or an Astatic 636-L Noice canceling microphone!! This usually will correct most of tghe feedback if not all of it!! And it will also let you keep most of your Mic gain turned uo too.

Connex 4600 turbo what band do I need to operate in on channel 19 citizen band

This is a 10 meter Amateur Radio. You need a license to operate it. From my research it doesn't do CB Radio Frequencies.

Here says
Frequency Range 10 Meter 28~29 MHz
https://www.walcottradio.com/connex-cx-4600-turbo-150-watt-10-meter-amateur-radio-p-2505.html

and here shows your unit doesn't go low enough

26.960-27.410 MHz This Radio Standards Specification (RSS) sets out general requirements for, and provides information on, the certification of radio apparatus that is used for the general radio service, also known as the citizens band (CB), operating in the 26.960-27.410 MHz frequency band.

Will a connex 4600 turbo cb radio operate cool enough in a dash enclosure?

I have CX-4600-T too. Mine gets way hot as well, I had a mod kit installed n it swings 215W peak power now. But the excessive heat is annoying, I think mine does have a fan in it though cause I know I felt air coming out the back before.
