They would normally sit in a groove under the turntable with a groove on top to hold them in place. I was hoping to find a Parts Schematic Diagram, but that model seems old and rare.
ereplacementparts or direct from Sunbeam are the best retailers of spares, but at that age, you best bet is to buy another as a parts machine from eBay.
Hello Hdjohnston!
If I were you I would call Sunbeam's Customer service number
Or email them and ask for a replacement user's guide (aka manual). This shouldn't be a problem as I've gotten replacement guides for other things before with no trouble :) Better yet, here's a link to get you your manual from Sunbeam's official website:

Also, if you sunbeam mixmaster is like mine, it you look at the holes where the beaters are inserted it shows little symbols of beaters (one with for example a square top and the other with a more curved top) which lets you know which type of beaters goes in where!
Hope this helps!

I wouldn't turn it on again , if the switch is smoking then for all practical purpose;s the brush;s are nearly shot as well. I would look around the good will thrift shops or a Salvation Army Store you ;ll find a nice one there for less than a repair bill. You never know what you will find there. Have fun hunting.. DFD please rate me. Tku
Hi Jill. Your mixer's gears are made of plastic and can't really handle heavy loads such as cookie and bread doughs. Contact Sunbeam Corp. to locate a parts place near you. You'll need to replace at least the large gear that turns the turntable base, possibly the worm gear that turns the large gear too. Grease these gears when you re-install the parts. You'll have to cut a couple of cable ties to get the machine apart enough to do the work. If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45.
