I don't think anyone can give a clear answer, but if it is used it would more likely turn up in cheaper products. It's probably wise to carefully read the ingredients and I'd be more concerned with toxins than anything else.
We have a cat that won't eat meat, only dried food and because he is so finicky we try to find food in which the first ingredient is chicken or meat rather than corn or any grain--which is not a natural food for them.
There
are a few things you can do to prevent your dog from being attracted to your cats
litter box. First and foremost, you
should try to remove your cats waste as quickly as possible. You can also try sprinkling some meat
tenderizer onto your cats food before ingestion. This will help make the smell of your cats
***** less enticing to your dog. Lastly,
I would recommend placing your cats litter box somewhere that your dog cannot
reach it; possibly by raising the litter box or placing it in a room only
accessible through a small cat door.
Cats are obligate carnivores, which means their natural diet is strictly raw meat ONLY. Cats biologically need the complete amino acid chain that is supplied in animal protein. Vegetables have amino acids but are missing certain parts, dogs and humans have the biological ability to synthesize the missing amino acid in vivo but cats can not. So long story short, no vegetables are not good for cats, however my cat loves pumpkin and canned beetroot. It is very hard to find cat food that contains no vegetables, the only way to give your cat the correct diet nature intended is to make it yourself.
