Danby silhouette Minifridge model DAR483BLS. Runs but does not get cold. What's the problem?

Does the compressor actually run or is it just the evaporator fan that you hear running inside the unit? If the compressor is running but never gets cold you have a leak in the system and not much freon left.

Danby silhouette runs but does not get cold. Model number DAR483BLS. What's the problem?

Sounds like a gas leak. Could be caused by rust. If refrigerant has leaked out through a failure in the pipe work it's probably not worth fixing. If compressor still runs ok get a tech to check for pipe damage or failure. If you continue to run compressor longer term without refrigerant it will damage the compressor. Best to get a tech to ascertain the problem soon.

GE GSS25LGMA WW FREEZES FOOD

These refrigerator use the cold air from the freezer the cool the refrigerator. At the rear of the upper refrigerator compartment, there is a shroud. Remove the shroud and you should see a "flapper" that shuts off the cold air when desired. You will most likely see the flap is broken. Once the flap is broken, you lose control of your refrigerator temp. This is a common problem with this refrigerator.
Hope this helps.

Thermostat

It's the Danby "auto-defrost" feature. It cycles off every 24 hrs to defrost, at which time the temp rises (as the unit isn't running!). Not much you can do. By the way, the blue LED temp display isn't accurate. It NEVER gets 36 (liquid temp) inside the Danby unless you do the following: Open the door and look to the back left. There is a small grate covering the temp sensor. Remove the grate and place the sensor into a small cup of water. The sensor will now read the "liquid" temp inside the keg, and not the "air" temp. The Danby will then cool the inside to a more beer friendly temp, and should not only cut back on foam, but taste better.
