Question about Mercedes C-class C230 C240 C350 C55 Exterior Stainless Steel Chrome Pillar Posts Trim Set 2005 2006 2007
Have been working on this issue for the last 9 days now. 2005 c230 Kompressor Car started to idle rough and kept shutting off. Than cranks and does not Start. Mechanic and I started to try to figure out what is going on. We put odb2 scanner in and read the codes as camshaft and misfire We than removed the valve cover took out the coils and noticed there was oil leaking into the sparks 1, 2 Ordered new sparks, replaced gaskets, cleaned and check coils that were producing spark. Tried to start car. Still cranks no start We than ordered two cam adjuster magnets and replaced them. Still crank no start After doing more research we than ordered and replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor. We hooked up back the odb2 and all codes and faults were gone except the overhead control which is the sunroof. Still cranking and not starting
Maybe you're looking in the wrong area. You said it started to idle rough and kept shutting off. That could also be a fuel related issue. Possibly a clogged fuel filter or weak fuel pressure from the pump going bad. Check your fuel pressure. If you discover that the fuel pressure is correct, then make sure you have a strong blue colored spark from each coil by taking a good plug and plugging it into each coil while its out of the cylinder. Have someone spin it over and watch the color of the spark. A dull orange colored spark could mean bad coils or even the computer itself.

SOURCE: 02 c32 cranks but will
Hello Joe, i would suspect the crank position sensor has faulted...this is the most common cause for a no start condition on your model MB.
I hope this helps.

That could mean that your alternator is bad. If you have a volt gauge on your dash check it. It should be reading about 14.4 volts. If it is reading closer to 12 volts then your have a pooched alternator. if you are reading the right volts then pull out the manual and look up the symbol. It should tell you what it means and might get you closer to the solution.
hope this helps.
