there could be a blockage of frozen water in the fill tube of the ice maker.
if there is no blockage then the nex thig to check is the main water valve that supplies the water to the ice maker.
you can check the power from the main pcb board to the ice maker and make sure you have current to the ice maker
if all else fails replace the ice maker
i hope this has helped in some way good luck
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice
maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear
it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube
it will freeze. You can take the water
line off the valve and watch to see if it drips and replace it if it does.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then
try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell
you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The problem is most likely the water control valve on rear of refrigerator. There are two sides on what is called a dual water control valve. If I had your model number I could tell you the part number. The second possibility is the thermostat inside the ice maker is defective. The way to test is to fill ice maker with tap water let freeze and if it dumps and does not refill then the water valve must be replaced. Let me know and please rate my solution, Thanks, Sea Breeze
