To connect to a Wi-Fi network with a hidden SSID, select Add Wi-Fi network from the settings. Then manually type in your SSID and password, and select your network security type. Select Save when finished. Now you can browse the web through your Wi-Fi router or connect to other network devices
Can you connect other devices to your wifi using the same password?
If so, it is the Kindle at fault.
Go to your wifi connections in Settings and remove your connection (I think it may say "forget").
Turn off your Kindle by holding down the power button for a full 30 seconds.
Restart your Kindle and connect to wifi, re-entering the password on the back of your router.
Your kindle has a sim card installed for 3G (lifetime licence paid by amazon and paid for on purchase price on the unit) but that is not related to the wi-fi function on your kindle. Your wi-fi service needs to be logged in to with the same password as you use to log any computer on to your router when at home or whatever wi-fi password is required when elsewhere (e.g a bus, train or restaurant).
Had same problem - said signal weak although strong on other devices, and hung on authenticating. Cordless phone on base unit was beside wireless router. Moved unit and turned off phone. Problem disappeared, and signal showed strong.
Check the wireless settings of your router and then try to connect Kindle to the wireless network . If your wireless network is secured then make sure that you are typing the correct network key.
