At a a minimum, you will need the magneto (inside left engine cover), the regulator/rectifier (right side, under seat -- has fins on it), the CDI (under seat, at front of airbox), and enough wiring harness to connect the 3. You should put a large capacitor in place of the battery. You will need to jump the sidestand and clutch safety switches, as removing them will cause a no-start condition.

SOURCE: removing the carburator on a suzuki drz, 125.

It is quiet easy, you remove the seat then the fuel tank this will expose the carburetor then its simply a matter of disconecting fuel line and unscrewing attachement screws. why do you need to do this? I would be very careful doing this as any dirt or dust or grime getting in can have huge impact

SOURCE: Suzuki GS 750 Starting

Hi
Sounds like someone has customised your bike - does it have a RH switchgear?
there shd be 3 connectors for the RH switch in headlamp - a 3 pin & 2 singles, the 3 pin has 2x orange/white + 1x yellow/green, this connects to 1x orange 1x orange/white +1x yellow/green wire which are for the kill + start
The singles are 1x orange/green + 1x white (loom side) which go to 1x orange + 1x white respectively, these are for the brake light
If you are keeping the kill sw then its only the yellow/green wire that can be discarded. You can also follow it back to the starter disconnect sw - junk that - keep tracing it back to the starter solenoid & junk that too. If you want to keep the electrical accessory output terminal then connect that straight to the battery or to the orange wire from the ign sw to the fuse box. You can also junk the thick wires from the solenoid, 1x to batt + 1x to the starter motor
You can junk the starter motor too ( 2 bolts then pull away from sidecase & up at the rear) but make sure you block the hole up!
If you want to bypass the ign sw then disconnect the 4 block from it & jump the red to the orange & also the brown to grey (for lights etc)
Good luck & ride safe

SOURCE: ducati monster 620 went dead

Sounds like a detached connector or a blow fuse. First open your user manual, locate the fuse holder and dbl check the fuse... You have two circuits, the On circuits, and the accessoiry (wich are not essential) seems that you lose the accessory...

SOURCE: wire harness on a 2001 r1 shorted out

The Haynes manuals have very good color-coded wiring diagrams in them. They are worth the investment, anyway.

Did you just remove the lead acid AGM batteries and replace with Lithium Ion? There is a lot more to it that that, you have to replace the controller as well and for safety you need a LiFePO battery and a new twistgrip because the old one is little more than an On / Off switch..

Light/Horn is on but can't electric start(with flickering sounds when start button pressed) the bike

By "flicking" sounds, do you mean a series of rapid "clicks"?

Usually a series of rapid clicks when trying to start is an indication of low battery voltage, or a bad electrical connection, usually a ground.

Get an automotive jumper cable (use only ONE of the leads, let's say the BLACK one), hook one end to the battery NEGATIVE terminal, and the other end to a bolt head that mounts the starter motor to the engine case, and see if that helps.

If so, it is a ground issue.

An old time Harley trick is to attach a SECOND ground cable to the battery negative terminal, and the other end, remove one starter mounting bolt, slip the bolt through the cable "eye", and reinstall the bolt.

The problem in this case is that most bike engines are made out of aluminum.

While aluminum WILL conduct electrical current, it's NOT the best conductor in the world.
This is why copper jumper cables are much better than aluminum ones, and why they found out (the hard way) that aluminum wiring in a house is no good!

NOW, if when you try to start and you get a SINGLE click, this usually means either a bad starter relay, or bad starter solenoid.

Remove seat

All bikes are different. Some dirt bikes unscrew, most street bikes unclip. Sometimes theres a cable latch in the back near the license plate or along the sides of the rear forks.

Have a 1994 suzuki dr 125 se wont start . Just bought it and got it out of the shop drove it home 50 miles and it wont start . Battery is strong . Do these bikes have kick stand kill switch ? Have...

Look under bike on kickstand. If there is a switch it will be right on the bracket which holds kickstand to bike.unplug wire and clean, somtimes is just dirt on contacts that causes the switch not to make up.use some wd 40 to clean and if there is any water in switch this will displace water and make switch operational.Worst case senario jump out switch and see if bike starts,If so replace switch and you good to go Good Luck.

Should you start on a dirt bike or street bike?

That depends on what you are using it for. Obviously, if you are dirt biking, you should use a dirt bike, and otherwise use a street bike. Start out with what you are going to use the most - dirt (freestyle) or street racing.

I left the bike in my garage and now it wont start, what could i do?

hi friend,
Step 112230_65x95_aspect.jpg
Move switch to ON position
Locate your dirt bikes OFF/ON, RUN/OFF, or START Switch. Use your finger to move the switch to the RUN, ON, or START position.
  • Step 212233_65x95_aspect.jpg Turn fuel switch ONLook on the side of your dirt bike near the engine and locate the "FUEL ON/OFF" switch. Use your finger to move the lever to the "ON" position. Your dirt bike will not start if the fuel is turned off. This off switch helps prevent fuel leaks when your dirt bike is stored.
  • Step 312234_65x95_aspect.jpg Turn choke ONIf your dirt bike engine isn’t warm, you will need to turn the choke on to start the bike. Locate the choke lever near the engine on the side of your dirt bike, probably not far from the "FUEL ON/OFF" switch. Use your finger to move the choke lever to the on position. Once your dirt bike has started and the engine has warmed up, you will need to move the choke lever to the "off" position.
  • Step 412236_65x95_aspect.jpg Foot on kick start pegBend your knee and place your foot on the kick start peg while leaning your weight on your other foot. Stand slightly and push the kick starter all the way down with as much force as you can.
  • Step 512239_65x95_aspect.jpg Push all the way downIf the bike doesn't start after the first attempt to kick start it, try again. Remember to push the peg as far down as it will go with as much of your weight as possible.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • If your dirt bike has a four-stroke compression engine and won't start, release the compression valve and try starting it again.
    • Sometimes, the engine remains in a compressed position and cannot turnover until the pressure is released.
    • If your dirt bike is equipped with an electric-starter, but won't start, you can follow these steps and kick start it.
    • Remember: always wear safety equipment when operating a dirt bike or ATV.
    • You should at least wear a helmet, boots that cover your ankles, and a chest protector to avoid serious injury.
    • Always supervise children when operating motor vehicles.
    hope this helps u

How to set timming on a 2003 Honda XR80 dirt bike?

This is the closest manual to your bike I can find.
    http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/site/57...
As you can see, it covers from 1979 - 2003 - Honda rarely change their engine configurations when they make something that works.
This manual was probably last printed in 2003 - and later year bikes just added updated pages (Honda does that quite often to save on re-printing new manuals).
The XL model is exactly the same as the XR, except the XL has additional components to make it street legal - battery, head light, tail light, turn signals, horn and street legal tires
