My receiver is shorting out and goes to stand by mode

units going into protect due to fault - try turning unit on without speakers if unit is ok check speakers

Disconnect all speakers from Zone 1 and see if it stays on. If it does, you have a short on a speaker (probably cable). If not, you might have a blown output transistor on Zone 1. I have a DENON that I am fixing that does this, but only when I turn up volume. Creepy. Good luck !

Check the speaker wiring on back that it is not shorting against one another, output ic's may have bad solder connections and should be checked carefully.

you have speaker wires that are shorting out. unhook all the wires and ohm them out. Find out which one is shorting. I've had this problem before. It's fine until you turn it up, Then the receiver turns off and goes into protect mode. It's just a short in the wiring,.

This is most likely a "protect" mode. A problem has been detected and the unit shuts down to prevent further damage. The most common cause of this are defective output transistors. Plan on a parts cost of $25-$40 for this repair.

This indicates that the system is going into protect mode. First disconnect all speaker wires (with the power cable disconnected). Then turn the unit on and see if it sill shuts aff ofter a few seconds. If it does not, then you have a problem with the speakers or speaker wires. inspect the wires at both ends for frayed strands that may touch. If that all lookd good, plu the speakers in, one at a time, until the problem reappears. Be sure to turn the sytem off before plugging in any speaker just to prevent any accidental short which could be catastrophic. If the system goes into protect mode with all speakers disconnected, you probably have a shorted output transistor.

Disconnect all the speaker wires at the receiver and turn it back on. If itdoesn't go into protect mode, your receiver is ok.

Reconnect the speakers one at a time being sure to turn the receiver off each time you connect a speaker and turn the receiver on until your receiver goes into protection mode again.

When it goes into protect mode again, the last speaker you connected has a problem. Trace the speaker's wire to the speaker looking for cuts or shorts along the way.

If you have a multimeter, switch itto ohms and check the speaker for a dead short, if you show a dead short you have a blownspeaker. Hope this helps.

Hello.You have shorted audio outputs. One of your channels has shorted output transistors. If your unit uses output ICs then one of them is shorted. Both types ( individual transistors or ICs ) are located on the large finned heat sink. The parts are available from http:\\www.tritronicsinc.com. good luck

It has a blown channel, unless you are good at repairing them I suggest an authorized Denon service center. This Denon not only needs the shorted output transistors replaced, but a few resistors, a couple of driver transistors and a capacitor on the preamp board as well. alot of parts to be replaced. I have repaired about a hundred of these over the last few years and my shop charges about $200 for this repair, other shops should be about the same.

same here ,men , i start the tearing apart hehehe, and i think it can be one the little chip located behind the control panel so i remove the white ribbon, the one looking like an ide connector for a hard drive, and guess what it turns on, but when you connect the ribbon just goes back to stand by mode, maybe requires a flash on one of the little chips, same thing happen to a lap top that i use to have, just shorted 2 of the pins and start working normally, im gonna find more info but there sems to be nothing about this amp, high five from mexico men
