Whirlpool Calypso Washer Mdl#30942 gets stuck during rinse cycle. Machine runs, then stops, but does not rinse completely. Last 35-38 min cycle is problematic. What is wrong and how to fix it?

Tried to rotate the clothes to even out the load; emptied the washer, and centered the agitator, then reloaded the wet clothes. Helped somewhat, but does not spin completely, resulting in quite wet clothes. Also, it seems the clothes do not wash as clean as before. Are these two problems related? How to fix these?

Thanks for your response. The rinse cycle keeps on running, but for every 5 min of clock time, it shows that the cycle has run for 1 min only OR sometimes the machine shows the same time where it was. Clothes remain very wet. Takes 3 dryer cycles (time wise) to dry the clothes.

It's hard to tell by your description of the problem, but it sounds like it could be the timer If it's not running while in spin mode, or as simple as a belt if it's running and not spinning fast enough.

Whirlpool calypso model GVW9959K-0 leaking during rinse cycle

hi my name is joyce

Sounds like your pump is leaking. if it is leaking when you are on a spin cycle.
now if it is stuck on f1 cycle and wont drain unplug and let stay unpluged for 60 seconds and replug and see if you can restart on drain and spin cycle. let me know if I can help with any other problems.
thanks

Water Leaking From Calypso, Won't Drain Completely

the bag type device is an overflow and should never have "water"in it, but it will get suds if you are using the wrong type of soap.
you need to use "HE" soap as it is a non-sudsing soap and thats why you are getting suds leaking from your unit.
just run the rinse and spin cycle until the suds are gone. then use the right type of soap and it will work properly with no leaks.

Whirlpool Calypso Washer

at this point i hate to do this but if yo want a free replacement you have to contact whirlpool. this was involved in a class action lawsuit and they are making the repairs for free. otherwise replacing the pump is simple and you can get them off ebay for really cheep. :)

Whirlpool Calypso - Will not start

You ever hear of dog years? Well Calypso follows those same guidelines. So your machine is 35 years old. These are the Edsel's of washing machine fame. I had a Calypso for 6 1/2 years. 3 pumps, numerous circuit boards, drive motors, phone calls and arguements with Whirlpool, along with machine downtime. I finally junked it and bought a Whirlpool Duet 9200 HT (get the made in Germany machine). A world of difference in wash quality. Fresh smelling unballed clean clothes. The Calypso was removed from the market and the subject of a class action lawsuit. Just Google it and start reading. Get comfortable first. There's a lot to read.
