Memory card will not go back into my S700. It stops 3/16" short of being in place.

Memory card does not stay in card slot. Just used camera this morning. Card came out like usual. It's as if the spring catch inside is not holding it. Have to wonder if a new camera is cheaper than repairing this one.

I don't want you to think I'm calling you less than intelligent, but it sounds like you need to flip the card over. Of course, it could be the spring... I would contact the US branch of Fuji.

Testimonial: "I know how to put the card in; I've had the camera for many years and used multiple cards (I've shot more than 4,000 photos with it)."

SOURCE: Im trying to use the

Is it telling you the the card specifically is full or just full. Some cameras need to be switched from onboard memory to memory card. Also, if you are using a high capacity memory card make sure your camera can take a hgih memory card. If you put a 2 or 4 gb card in and it says full that means your camera can't use those cards.

SOURCE: Fuji FinePix S700 Problem

Try to put it on super macro and see if this will reset the zoom function.
Also try to switch between the settings that allow the digital zoom, as compaired to those settings that only allow optical zoom.
If these do not work, you may have a lens that has been dropped, or is stuck, and may need to be serviced. I have the S700, and have never seen this error before> good luck.

SOURCE: Can't initialize SanDisk Ultra II for S7000

It looks as though the camera cannot support memory as high as 4GB. Capacities above 2.2 GB require that your camera supports "FAT32", and S7000 does not support FAT32.

SOURCE: finepix s700 says memory full and wont take more pictures with sd

i know this is late, but my camera had the same problem.
1. If you go in the setup menu.
2. Push the right button once and scroll down to the menu that says format.
3. It will ask you if you want to erase all data.
4. Select No and everything should be fine.

SD card won't stay in the slot of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-SL80

is the lock on the card by chance. also depending on how old the camera is and how big the sd card is in gb. the lumix may not be able to handle that size of card, too many gb. My lumix would only accept up to 4 gb, so when I moved to 16 they did not work.

Fuji finepix s700 camera error message protected card. After making sure sd card in unlocked. I still get this message. I had trouble getting out a sd card,i feel a piece of the sd card broke in the...

Take a small flash light and see if there is a part of a memory card in there, if there is cleaning it out would solve the problem. Also make sure you're putting the memory card in the right way. I've you've done that and it's still giving you problems try going into the menu's and formatting the memory card in the camera.

New 4G memory card states full have re-formatted but still shows full. Have tried a 2G card but that is ok to use any ideas please

Your new 4GB card is an SDHC card. The S700 works with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

Will sdhc card work in my fuji s700 camera

The SDHC memory card is a newer version of the SD card and will fit in the memory card slot. However the maximum memory capacity your camera is capable of is 2gig, beyond this the card may not work. You may be able to extend this capacity with a firmware update from the Fuji site.
The SDHC memory card has a lock the same as your SD card here is a diagram to make sure the lock is in the correct position for use. Remember also to format the new card and format after each download of pictures to the computer.

I just bought a brand new scandisk 4gb card and it says that the memory is full even though i didn't take any pictures... what do i do?

The S700 uses SD cards. Your new 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it will fit into the slot, it will not work in the S700 (as you've discovered). You'll have to limit yourself to SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

My sister dropped my camera a while go and it now says "protected card"...how do i fix this???

I am surprised that nothing else has malfunctioned since dropping your S700. Remove the SD or XD memory card from the camera and make sure that the little slide switch on the memory card is in the "unlocked" position. Replace the card back into the camera (make sure that the switch doesn't slide back into the "locked" position again). Some memory cards, especially off-brand ones have very loose lock/unlock slide switches. I had to jam one into unlock mode by shoving a tiny piece of plastic into the slide slot. If that doesn't solve the problem, try using a different memory card and see if the results are the same. If this advice has solved your problem, please rate my answer accordingly. Good luck.
