SOURCE: aux location

There is a RCA cable that comes off the back of the radio and also another cable for 3.5mm (mini-stereo jack) that also comes off the back of the radio. The RCA jacks can be used for "AUX" or "Sub-woofer" and the 3.5mm jack is just for "AUX". Your ipod can use the audio output jack or the headphone jack and plug that into the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the radio. You will need a "3.5mm male" to "3.5mm male" stereo cord that can be purchased at Radio Shack or Best Buy. Then you select "AUX" on the display with the source button to listen to it. You may need to go into the menu and activate the "AUX" input. Check your owners manual for details.

SOURCE: turn aux on on kenwood kdc-mp205

In order to access the AUX option the stereo needs to be in Standby mode. To do this just hit the SRC or source button until you reach the Standby option. Now hit the menu button and scroll up or down until you reach the AUX on/off option and just turn it on. Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Chris,

Beginning on the bottom of page 34 in the KDC-7024 manual - you'll find the details concerning the security code. if you do not recall your security code, you will probably need to contact Kenwood Car Entertainment Support for additional help.

I hope this is the info you're looking for & good luck!

Code kenwood kdc-7024

You will need to visit an Authorized Dealer or service center for that product to get the unlock code reset. You can find a dealer listing on their website, or call them.

I dont remember my 4 numbers to my kenwood KDC-7024 cd player i just got it from my uncle and he dont remember what it was

The only solution now is to take it to a Radio Decoding Service (such as your local Car Radio store) where they will open up your radio and connect a laptop to read the code inside your memory chip(EEPROM) using special software.

It will not be available by any other method as KENWOOD codes are not readily available ...Sorry

Cable

The difficult part is I have a KDC-X815 and you have a KDC-7024, so I have no idea how different they are internally/mechanically. But if it's any help, here are the (excellent) instructions I used to repair mine. I was able to find a replacement cable at a local stereo shop that also does stereo repair.

This forum thread has a lot of good info, too:

My Kenwood KDC-7024 has just started playing up - as soon as you turn on the ignition, the face panel comes down, flicks on for all of 2 - 3 seconds and then closes, it then keeps doing this repeatedly...

It's possible the flexible PCB (more of a cable, really) that connects the faceplate to the main unit has cracks in the conductors. This has been an issue with some of the older Kenwood HUs that have the MASK motorized faceplate. The flex-cable gets bent and pinched enough over the years that it eventually cracks the copper.

Use the am and fm buttons to increase or decrease the numbers and use the seek up button to move to the next number and then press and hold the seek button to enter the code ( these buttons are on the bottom right hand side of the fascia)
