Mitsubishi WS-48613 My rear-projection (WS-48613) TV will go BLACK with NO SOUND. (This can happen every 10 minutes.) Other functions like INFO, Device, Channel, Volume, etc. ARE visible when accessed. The Device Selection of DTV WILL display a picture (without sound) but it is NOT in-sync (Hortz). This behaves like a software problem - I can turn the TV off for a few seconds and ALL functions (Sound/Picture) are restored when the set is turned back on. Please advise.

Tried ALL of that - NO JOY!

Only, now the failure appears to remain in the failure mode.

The Black picture in the failure mode is really just a dark screen - with light (in the room) off you can see a faint dark color. HD mode still shows a picture with loss of Hortz sync. Other functions like INFO, Device, Channel, Volume, etc. ARE visible when accessed.

Did you try reset? Unplug AC cord for a while, plug in try again...
2) With paper clip, activate reset thru access hole on front of
TV ( consult owners manual) recheck.....................
3) Leave set unplugged from AC overnight.................T.

It might be that your set is headed in the direction of all the

other Mits chassis with DM modules on board.......If not now, then very soon your set will blink the LED green power indicator

and nothing will stop it....The fix is replace four capacitors on the

DM module. For details go to [email protected]....

Have a well-qualified Mits tech look at your set........T.

Mitsubishi ws-48613 no power

It seems problem of weak capacitors in power supply and deflection board.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good soldering skills, then check above said boards for weak capacitors.
You also need to have service manual of WS48613 which can be obtained from Manual Zone.
Service manual has schematics and technical information of TV to help in repair.
