Go to settings>display and make sure the autorotate is enabled. If it still isn't working then there may be an issue with your device's accelerometer, test it in a game such as temple run.
If you save in a temple and quit, it will always take you back to the beginning of the temple. Even so, you keep your progress through the temple like rooms visited, chests opened, and keys found.
I think this is the same problem my son had. Do the enemies just keep coming? Here's the solution. After building up enough combos you get a lightning bolt in a yellow circle on the screen. Press down the top of both the analog sticks and before the countdown runs out do a superbark (L2) while facing the far wall. the wall collapses and you can progress!
Well, you can use a cheat code to allow you to warp anytime by using a homebrew application called Ocarina, which is usually built into most backup loaders by default. Go to wiibrew.org or any other site that focuses on loading backups to figure out how to use it. You don't have to start all over if you can cheat. :)
