use a usb/mini usb adapter cable...one comes with new Moultrie i-40/i-60 cams, or get one for Blacberry or Sony cellphones...same fit...older d-40 cams use different size.Plug cable between pc and cam;go to"My Computer"...should show a HDD identified as Moultrie. Doulbe click...enjoy pics; no software needed.

The ir gets power thru capacitors and inductors on main board.;check for loose connections, broker leeds; may have to replace ir array or main board to fix.Forget Moultrie having spares; try to buy used on as is from eBay.

If this is correct,it relates to: Camera Mod test failed;(4); and under Memory Test, 8= Comms Error.New batteries(good ones) may fix it...
It' not communicating with memory card..ck it's inserted good..press down until it stays down(press again and it will pop up.
Follow instructions on deleting internal memory before installing SDcard.
Also, make sure cam supports kind of card you're using..at 4gb and larger, they become confusing;i.e., 4/8/16mb...older cams won't support some of these. Also there are HC(high capacity); HD(high definition)don't work in these cams..
I posted this for a fix a few days ago, and it turned out to be brand new bad batteries.

are you pressing mode in setup window?

does the aim work? LCD menu display mak be bad...turn cam to aim, red laser should come on, move switch all the way to left and watch for any flash of black dots/lines...try replacing display, available by emailing (don't call) www.moultriefeeders.com. They have been replacing these displays free of charge, free shipping with instructions...not hard to replace.
