You must have blown out the cones (thats how the water gets compressed inside of pump) in the water pump-
You could try this though on the back of the washer right on top of the water pump is a black knob about the size of your hand that knob will adjust the pressure try turning it and see although I doubt that is the problem-
A pressure washer is not like a compressor you HAVE to pull the trigger every minute NEVER let it just sit there running without pulling the trigger to release the pressure that Dewalt 3800 psi washer you have is a great machine in fact we own 4 of them and they are pretty powerful and easy to damage if left running alone.
Im not sure you have replaced on the mechine and you say it worked for a weak so it sounds like a new problem . But i owen a few powerwashers and wash houses as part of my bussiness. The most likely things that will stop the pressure are eighter the valves in the water pump witch under the caps on the pump the cages are sometimes made out of plastic and peices of the cage can break of and stop the valve to not seal all it takes is one of them but if you remove the peice the mechine will work again . However it could be what is called the unloader valve . This is a valve located under the water pressure control knob it adjusts the pressure at the tip but also allows the water inside the water pump to recurilate in side the pump when the trigger is not pulled so the mechine won't over build inside the pump if its stuck in recuriculate you will have no pressure at the tip . Most of the unloader are not rebuildable but i fine if you remove them and turn the knob while spraying WD40 into them most of the time you can free them by turning the pressure control knob You have to play with it good luck
There are usually two gages, one for the pressure in the tank, the other is for the regulated pressure in the hose going to whatever tool you have connected. I assume the tank filled up and the tank gage registers pressure in the tank. When you said you "opened the gage" I am guessing that you turned the knob counter-clockwise which would be the normal direction to open a valve. However, this is not a valve, it is a spring loaded regulator device. When you turn the knob counterclockwise you are removing all pressure from the spring which sets the regulator to allow zero pressure in the hose. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the pressure in the hose.
I hope this was helpful.
Good luck.
There are several way to increase pressure. Primary way is to turn the pressure regulator knob in the direction to increase tension on the spring. Pressure regulator is located on the pump (or very neer) and usually has a large spring. Sometimes the spring is hidden under a twist knob. If the adjuster seems to be already turned to max then you may need to just change the pressure tip. The tip/nozzle is actually where the pressure is created by restricting the flow of water thru a very small opening. Use a new tip of the same gpm flow that is required by your machine. 18 hp machine has potential for very high pressure and high gallons per minute. Use trouble shooting guide above for more information. Good luck
Usually when a pressure washer is pulsating, either one or more pistions are not pumping. Quite often one of the check vavles for a cylider has broken and will not seal, which means you'v just lost one cylinder, and now you're running on two (etc) If a pressure washer is allowed to idle too long, re-circulating the water, it will get hot, and then melt the plastic container on the check valves. Go to : www. pressure-washer-parts.com You can order parts, and manuals.
To get the soad to come out you will need to adjust your machine to low pressure. You can do this by turning the knob at the end of the lance and then your machine will **** chemical.
