Door keeps flashing

Possible your door has not been shut properly. Open the door and shut again. Or try some WD40 spray on the door of the machine, not on the body, or it could short circuit something. If all this does not work just change the lock mechanism, quoting your model and brand; you could find spares on the net.

Hotpoint wm64s indicating door not shut program will not function cus door light flashing...however door iis shut n wont open

You have a mildly confused machine, probably the result of the fact that there is a moment where the door lock can activate, but the sensor that tells if it's shut cant because the door isn't QUITE pushed home hard enough.

First try, just give the door a whack with the heel of your hand in line with where the door catch is. It may be that simple to relocate the door and the sensor properly

Failing that, unplug at the wall and wait 20 minutes. This will, without doubt reset the machine and allow you to open it (While it is still powered off!). Open the door and shut it firmly.... I hesitate to say SLAM the door.... But slam-ish won't hurt, just don't be stupid about it!

All should be OK going forward

Hotoint WMA34 door light keeps flashing and machine wont start

The light flashing usually indicates that the door is not closed securely. this can be caused by a weak or broken door handle spring.
If you are satisfied that the handle is o/k, then the other possibility is that the control module has a blown track, this can be accessed by removing the top cover.
Hope this nhelps.

My hotpoint washing machine wmf540 keeps flashing 'door' when I try to put it on a cyle - but the door is shut!!! Any advice??

It happened on our machine. The soloution to this for me was to take the lid off (two screws). Unplugged from mains. I found the connector to the door had vibrated off and was just hanging loose. Plugged it back in and it worked straight away.Door opens as normal.
Don't forget to look in the manual for how to get the door open in an emergency.

Door lock

Switch off. Try some WD40 on the machine lock (not on door) and open & close door many times, to ease out the lock.
