Philips remote control not working

have the remote tested, any repair shop can do this and usually for free.

If remote is good the receiver in the set is likely bad.

Need to find out a part # for my philips 52PFL7403/f7 for the ir sensor

Join Date: Nov 2011 I have a Philips 47PFL3603D/F7 with the same problem. It was the IR sensor board causing the problem. You can search online to find the board, which almost everyone will most likely not have in stock, and cant be ordered. The part you need is this: 313926859181 IR Remote Sensor.

Models it will fit are as follows: Substitute Parts 313926859182

If you can find the board, great! A replacement board costs about $12.00. If you can't... we'll there is something you can try ; )

Either way, if you know it's the board, what's the harm in trying?

Remove the back from the TV. You can actually leave it on your stand to do this if you can spin it around to gain access to the back of it. Be sure to unplug everything first!!!

Looking at the back of the tv, the board will be located in the lower left side by the speaker. It will have 2 cables attached to it. Remove them, and take out the screw or two that holds it in place. There will be a plastic tab that keeps it in place also.

Take your fingernail and bend the tab back, and the board should come free. After that you should be holding the board in your hands. The side of the board with the connectors on it is the side you want to manipulate. There will be a tiny surface mounted capacitor beside one of the wire connection sockets. Take a utility knife and scrape it off/ you could use a soldering iron but it should come off very easy with a knife.

Plug it back in, and give it a try! If it works... great! If not, find a replacement board, and try that.

Hope it helps someone!!!! quote.gif

Philips 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV - model 47PFL3603D - worked great until we tried to move it - it was bumped very lightly, and the picture now only shows 1/2 the screen

There are two ribbon cables at the top centre of the display, if one is loose, you will only have half a screen. When taking a small bump the cable has become loose. Check the ribbon cables and connections.

Hi there,

You need to select the source of your home theater system. Press <SOURCE> on the home theater remote to switch between DVD, TUNER, and LINE modes. Select LINE, then you should now hear audio from your TV, Please make sure that your TV is not muted, just increase the volume until you hear audio on home theater. Also increase the volume of your home theater.

I have a new TV Model 47PFL3603D/F7 and am hooked up to comcast digital box and cannot figure out how to get my comcast remote to regulate the volume. I have the set on channel 3 and everything works...

Usually on a universal remote (after programmed) the volume is controlled by pressing the cable button then adjusting the volume. When you turn your tv on by pressing tv power---then flipping through the channels by pressing cable--channel up or down. The remote (in my experience usually only controls the volume while in the cable mode)

AUDIO

Philips TVs have an audio technology called automatic volume leveler (AVL). This was designed to eliminate the volume increase with commercials.
This setting is available in the audio page of the TV settings menu. turning the AVL option on should help with this problem.
