If you could be a bit more specific about your issue, we can trouble shoot it here. CP185's have some common issues, but the typical are always the best: Check for a fully charged battery. Fresh batteries are best. This is our shops' #1 issue. Then check the battery contacts and the charger. More than that, just post!

How to enable all channels

The CP185 is dealer programmable for up to 16 channels. You would need to see an authorized Motorola dealer to have the radio reprogrammed to your additional FCC assigned frequencies.

Best regards.

Walkie talkie batteries don't last

What you have been using are consumer grade walkie talkies. The rechargeable battery packs in them should last a full business day, unless you are in a high use area. This being said, it is also possible you might need to replace the rechargeable battery pack as they usually have just a one year life expectancy. As they start to fail they will go less and less time in a day.

To answer your question about a radio which will go a full business day, any of the business division Motorola handheld radios would work. Radios such as the CP110, BPR40, CP185, and CP200 are all make to go a full day and sometimes more. Their battery packs depending on chemistry would also need to be replaced every 18-24 months.

Best regards.

I am having problems pairing my FV-500 Motorola Talkabout walkie talkies. Can someone help me?

Walk through the steps of the initial set up, being certain the frequency, interference eliminator code and Qt filter match one another. If any one of these three does not match, the radios will not work together. The Qt filter can be problematic, you might want to set it to zero.
