hey guys.
im @ my dads. and he has a old dell. and i downloaded and put on driver
detector and did a scan, and fixed my drivers n what not..
the sound hasn't been updated since 2004.. so i download the new 1's
and installed em., but it says they wont work for my motherboard..
i previously backed up my old drivers.. and when it says "done, please restart PC for them to work"..
i restart my PC.. and they wont work
and its annoying me
cheers for your help them nerds out there
end of quote
me and few other friends tried to help him but nothing seemed to work.
he told us he tried un installing and re installing but that didn't work either.
First ..I need to know the exact model and number ..meanwhile he just get to see if the sound card its seen by the windows...as found new device ...when it doesnt have a driver installed...if it doesnt sees it ...just take a look into the services ..control panel ...maintenance and performance.....administrative tool s to see if the sound card is enabled ....or better to check if its still alive ...
the problem might occur from using vista instead of xp....which I believe its the operating system that all that old computers came with ...so .....as I mentionated ...even if Im not a nerd..:P I will try to find the original driver if I have the ful name and model number ...take care !
