Why is my battery discharging after two days after motor mounts replaced?

Some circuit is draining the battery after you turn off the ignition. Need an ammeter to measure the drain and start removing fusings until the drain disappears. Then you have localized the line responsible for the drain and you can check all of the items on that circuit.

There are 4 motor mounts on the engine. You found the top mount. The bottom mount on that side is a dog bone and is right under the crankshaft pulley. The bottom mount is on the other side in about the same place. The drivers side top mount is another dog bone and is under the battery box. For best results, change all four of them at once, and make sure to buy a GM original mount for the top one. The knockoff mounts just aren't as smooth and durable as the real thing. Believe me on this one, the huge difference is well worth the few extra bucks.

While the hood is open. Rn the engine with a helper operating the gas pedal and e-brake locked. Place the car in D and then R while you are watching the engine from the side. Have the helper step on the gas in each of the gears and watch what happens to the engine. If the engine jumps around,, then you have other mounts that are broken and need replacing.

I put a new battery in my 2002 Saturn SL2. The radio simplys says Lock mode. Please advise me how to get my codes thanks phil

sounds like someone might have "rolled" the mileage back and srewed all that up taking the instrument panel out. Possible seen it before.

Why couldn't they find anything wrong? The main componants should be tested first. (the starter,srarter relay,any related wiring, ignition switch, and all connections at battery, relay, fuse, starter, and eng. block). Good luck.

yes a subframe from 91-94 will work.

I had the same problem on my SL1 2002 and my wifes SL2 2001. In both cases, the electric radiator fan motor needed replacing. It was not difficult but took me a full day of trying to figure out how to pull the plastic housing it is mounted in. Someone who knows what they are doing could have changed it in a half hour. Works great now.
