I'm clueless ,but how do you get the battery out

Good afternoon friend, the best option would be to attempt to start the device in recovery mode.
Hold the volume up button and power button for a few seconds and you should see a menu to allow you to restore the device to factory settings.
The volume buttons take you up and down and power is the enter key.
Restore factory settings and the reboot your device.

I do not believe it is all that easy to take the back cover off. Depending on which model of the tablet you have you need special tools. A plastic picnic knife might be helpful but then there are a couple of screws to open as well.
