SOURCE: Blue light and lamp light flashing, no picture.

Look in the owners manual for the directions on how to remove the lamp. Your model the lamp goes in from the front on the left looking at the TV. There is a thumb screw in the back on the corner holding the left front speaker on. Under the panel there is another thumb screw holding the lamp door on. You will need a Phillips screw driver to remove the lamp. You will most likely find that the lamp is bad. You will either have to order a lamp directly from JVC, a service center or a parts distributor.

SOURCE: Picture went out had sound..replaced

This unit has cooling fans and it sounds like they are either plugged or not working. When a ballest usually goes out it does not come on and then go out. It is the coming on part that is hard for the ballest to do when going out. Sounds like over heating problems and if it is the ballest it could be any were on a tv and in many different locations. I would type your model number in and replacement ballest for this model number and go from their. Thanks

SOURCE: no sound or picture on jvc 52fa97

If lamp is bad set will detect that (or other issues) and kill all functions=not unusual to have no sound if lamp is bad.

No sound and no video when i turn it on only the green light becomes red. thx

This indicates a problem in the power supply or the scan drive.
Try unplugging it from the wall, wait about ten minutes and then plug it back in. If it works then you have reset the microprocessor to the start up default. If it doesn't then there is an internal defect and it's time to check on repairs. That reset procedure works for anything that has a micro processor in it. If it's a battery powered unit then remove the batteries and then reinstall them after a short wait (about 10 minutes)

Picture comes on for a few seconds then it goes black. Sound continues to work but no picture. After turning off and on a dozen times in a row, the picture may stay on

These t.v.'s have a microprocessor in them, similar to a computer. Try unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes then plug it back it. If that doesn't work try removing the cables and plugging those back in.

Leave it unplugged for 24 hours. Sounds like the failsafe for a power surge. This is typical for RCA products. I have a 54 inch rear projection TV that will only tune 16 channels and none of them are correct when it surges. The solution: 24 hours unplugged. I also have the same type of thing with my RCA DVD recorder... Never had it happen to surround sound, though.

I have a Hitachi 55 inch plasma tv. i have no picture but i have sound.

Unplug the unit to reset the microprocessor, then reconnect the power in a few minutes and try it. Next step is to disconnect it from all other components and see if it will turn on from the set itself. Next step is to call a repair shop that is factory authorized for Hitachi, or order the digital, sub digital and power supply boards, at a cost of about $500. On this model trying to fix it yourself is a costly experience. Good luck, Russmann.

After a few minutes of the t.v being on the picture will suddenly go of as if the T.v. puts itself into standbye mode, once this happens the only way to get the picture back is but switching the T.V. off...

Sure wish we knew which brand and model of set it is, but it sounds like the tv is going into shutdown possibly caused by bad solder connections or a weak component on the circuit board. The only thing you can do yourself on this one is to disconnect the power cord from the wall for a few minutes and hope it clears out any confusion in the microprocessor. Otherwise, you need a service person to go in and check it with test equip. Good luck, Russmann.

Good Day;
Try resetting the TV by unplugging from the wall A/C outlet for 3 to 5 minutes, plug back in. No fix? Your TV's LAMP needs to be replaced. Part number; UX21516, for Model 55VG825.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
