Question about HP Pavilion F1703 17" LCD Monitor
Have an HP 17" Model w17e. I press the power on button on the monitor the display lights up, shows a energy star splash screen then goes dark. I have found that if I shine a light on the screen I can see my desktop but it's dark. Any clues?
I concur with "Drikus41". The back light inverter is probably faulty. Or more likely, the circuit board driving the inverter. Seems like a component is heating up quickly right after you turn it on, and it's shutting down the power to the light. If you're adventurous, you could also attempt to check the connection cable inside the screen bezel.

The backlight inverter is faulty.
THis means that there is either a loose contact or one of the transistors on the backlight inverter has blown

Problem is with the RAM.
