How to correct over crank fault??

Locked Rotor is reported as an overcrank fault "OC".

You first need to verify the engine fails to crank, which is likely a starter motor or start circuit failure.

If the engine cranks three separate times and then the OC fault occurs, it simply means the engine did not run... more likely a fuel issue.

But either can be caused by numerous reasons.

Had the ' engine m/n invalid shut down on my 12resv Kohler generator. Off light was blinking red. Clicked the select button 3 times to clear fault and confirmed Y ...then went to the Gen set information which is a few more menu down with the arrow button. It did say 12Resv so had it blink and rest it but same thing. so rest fault again and went back to the gen set information tab and I changed it to 14resv and all cleared without out fault and tryed to hit run for a min . Ofcourse it's wrong model number so would not start but did not fault. So I went back to the Gen set information menu and put it back to the original 12Resv and it started right up without fault. I placed back in Auto and been working ever sense. Has friend had same problem and as with mine it happened on a night where power went on and off multiple times. Think its really just loosing informsiton to recognize the unit to controller and needs reset or flashed if you have the OnCue will work as well....one more thing good idea I'd not sure your battery is good over 12v to pull terminals and physically check with a multi meter should be liek 13 4 volts or so for optimal starting. Low frequency is caused by the engine not running at it's correct speed. There is a governor mechanism that controls the engine speed, so I'd check it for proper operation.

You need a scan tool to clear codes.

But doing this is a pointless exercise as the CE warning light will come back next time you drive the vehicle unless you deal with the problems that are generating the fault codes and CE in the first place.

If you have replaced parts (because some one told you XYZ fault code = replace ABC part) you thought were causing the problems and you are still getting the CE and fault codes then your diagnosis of the problem was completely wrong.

what model is it KY KV need that and Spec. If it blinks 3 times it indicates a lower service fault. While blinking hit the stop button 3 times fast, then read the code. It will blink, pause then blink again and repeat. What is that code and I can help you. IE 4 blinks pause and 3 indicates code 43

What fault alarm did it indicate? No start signal at all normally means a safety lockout, is it cranking at all? Can you give me more details please

I had this fault show this morning. Very alarming, as we have a typhoon coming theough tomorrow!

Turned out to be an easy fix. When I hit start the solenoid engaged but nothing moved. Then I saw the fault message and thought "Large $$$$!"

It was just a bad 12 Volt battery, and when it couldn't crank it threw the fault code. I replaced the battery, pulled the 3 fuses on the control panel (mine is the 20 Kw model), and the codes cleared, and she fired right up.

The advice here and on a couple other sites about powering down the panel to clear fault codes saved me a lot of time, money and aggravaion, not to mention a freezer full of food (knowing the Guam Power Authority, and knowing typhoons, the power WILL go down tomorrow.

Overcrank means that it tried to start and couldn't. It will go through 5 crank cycles and then stop with this alarm. Switch to off, hit enter to clear fault and then try to start in manual. Check to make sure you have fuel and pressure is 11 to 14 in WC.

I am not familiar with your peice of equipment but from your description of the fault being Under Frequency it appears that generator governor is out of adjustment or the governor spring has brcome weak or broken and not allowing the engine to run at the correct speed to produce an output frequency within the allowable tolerance. Governor linkage could also be binding and not moving smoothly to respond properly to engine load conditions. Thoroughly check governor and throttle linkage for free and smooth operation and full range of movement.
Another cause could be that the engine is not getting sufficient fuel causing the governor to have the throttle wide open to try to get engine to run at its correctly governed speed but unable to do so because the engine is not developing enough horse power.

E001 is a fixing assy fault you have to clear the error in service mode after correcting the fault of course. I would try clearing the error code in service mode 1st. press *28* function tab clear tab error ok then restart copier
